This is nonsense. This will only be true when they don’t care about hardware anymore
This is nonsense.

Rome wasn't built in a day, nor was it destroyed in a day.

The power of game exclusivity has been on downward slide for 10 years now. The slides speed is only increasing. You people act like those Vietnam soldiers still fighting in the woods 20 years after the war ended.

Exclusivity is dying. Accept it.

It's funny how Xbox is getting more support than ever (Sony, Mihoyo, Square) when their sales are tanking in every market. It's like the whole industry is desperate to give them one last push.
This essentially confirms that the same publisher will release there games day one on Nintendo Switch 2. Where PS is loosing exclusive & partners + 3rd party studios rejecting deals (which will happen more when they can also release on Switch 2) PS is left w what? High price console, high price games, no exclusive, high price subscription, high price vr (both vr & console lack first party exclusive), PS first party output being poor & PS leadership not rectifying it since 2020, a industry that is being consolidated & will continue Sony/PS is lacking genre, games studios, ip to cover multiple markets & genres to cater to as a wide audience while also being at a scale to compete w Nintendo, Valve & future competitors w bigger wallet.

Us core gamers lurking in these forums make a minority of gamers for all platforms.

What we think or do doesn’t make a difference.

It’s the casual majority who do.

Not the way you think they do. Hardcore & core enthusiasts are the ones who light the fire to get the engine going, so to speak, when it comes to a console's longer-term prospects. They're the ones who drive early engagement and growth, which makes the platform appealing for the casual majority that tend to jump in later.

The way SIE have been going about this gen is gonna screw all of that up for the next go-around. They're going to have suppressed early adoption rates for PS6 and less spend per early adopter on average, which will keep margins tighter and result in slower rate of price cuts and sales, meaning more of the casual majority will hold out later or not jump in at all.

I genuinely think at this point SIE are about to face their own version of what Microsoft's already gone through this generation when it comes to the console. It may not be as bad because the PS brand is bigger & more global, but at the same time, SIE don't have the IP wealth Microsoft have (tho MS spent $80+ billion to have those valuable IP).

It's already happening. They will only realize all the money they've lost when it's too late.
Just like… mmm… Xbox? 3rd place & ex platform holder that lost & imploded both there console hardware & storefronts & there windows PC storefront? That same Xbox?

Nonsense.

For example, why do many Nintendo consoles fail when they have a hardcore and loyal fanbase who always buy anything Nintendo.

Don’t give yourself so much importance.

Most Playstation gamers right now numbering 100 million across 2 platforms don’t give a damn about us or these forums and neither the Death Stranding IP being sold.

They are busy playing FIFA, COD, Fortnite and GTA.

They make the majority of gamers using a Playstation platform.

Call them what you want.

They are not influenced by core gamers.

You talking nonsense. Every industry I mean every single industry. Movies, food, music you name it has some sort of exclusivity lol.

Who would buy a Nintendo weak ass console of their games wasn’t exclusive.
The only thing keeping Nintendo afloat are their games. Their consoles are dog shit and that’s why 3rd party sells like shit on it

Yes. I doubt Playstation is publishing it as they dont own it anymore
They don't own it anymore because the pressure to maintain exclusives has become too great for PlayStation.

Their grip is slipping. Has been for a long time.

The DVD player industry doesn't.
The radio industry doesn't.
The computer industry doesn't.
The tablet industry doesn't.
The supermarket industry doesn't.

You will continue to see fewer and fewer exclusives as you're pulled into the Games as the platform era. Funny watching the stragglers...

so... just in the last 4 years we lost....

- Final Fantasy exclusivity
- COD marketing
- Death Stranding IP
- MLB The Show Exclusivity
- Console Exclusivity for games (now all on PC, specifically competing storefronts like Valve's Steam, even the latest, Spiderman 2)

and somehow, people here on this site want to act like everything is flowers
