he's probably one of the only guys in the industry they'll bend over backwards for.
You forgot the MLB and the greatest of them all - LEGO

Obviously they matter. I buy Playstations because they have always had the content at launch. But what I won't do is act sorry that a 5 year old game is no longer exclusive. It is not some type of cataclysmic event, they have reaped all the benefits from the OG already, more worried about Kojima Prod getting the bag up.You are tip toeing around the question and being condescending won't make your empty replies hold weight. Consoles have always been about exclusive stables as well. PlayStation did not become the dominant force because their games were everywhere. All those 3rd party exclusives during PS1 & PS2 era (that you were enjoying) were for a reason. Without them the PS1 would have certainly not sold 100+ million. Sony is still trying to get 3rd party exclusives for a reason lol, especially given how this year has played out where their 2nd & 3rd party is what saved them.
Nobody is console warring here, you're attemptimg to deflect the conservation because you wanna come off as being so level headed and rational, it ain't working here though.
Exclusives matter!
Same brother.I wish this had seen more replies like this online when there were people celebrating MS buying out Bethesda.
you must been living under the rock for the last 30 years. No other platform has such a toxic fanbase.
The most toxic are the Xbox/PCMR by far. You don't see it because you're one of them. Most of the people on this board are heavily emotionally invested in PlayStation to the point is has become their identity. No other platform has such a toxic fanbase.
People are more concerned about the implications of this going forward and not really Kojima himself? As Death Stranding 2 ain't gonna be selling any PS5's and it probably won't even sell as well as the first game. But this just highlights where PlayStation is heading and as company and it's not a good look.Obviously they matter. I buy Playstations because they have always had the content at launch. I agree with the part that the PS commmunity is toxic themselves but IMO it goes PCMR>Xbox=PS>NintendoMost of the people on this board are heavily emotionally invested in PlayStation to the point is has become their identity. No other platform has such a toxic fanbase.

Go bookmark your lack of comprehension skillset... So you can eventually find it one day.
Sony made Concord, right?Who is gonna make the sequels?
Again I think Sony knows better than us on what value the IP had.
They were the financiers after all.

What implications? I have already stated that a multiplatform nature of Sony is enough for me to continue with the platform. But in a way I guess you're right? for console warriors this is 100% the end after arguing on forums posting list wars, metacritic scores, and being insecure, that wall is finally being dismantled. Whole ass identity is what they have and others cannot. I can't imagine being so tied to console brand to really care about the logistics for what it means for them. their issue.People are more concerned about the implications of this going forward and not really Kojima himself? That is the baffling part.
What did Sony gain from all this shit.
Still the IP is useless without Kojima whether Sony own it or not.
You already don't for 95% of its library sir
I'll also add many of you would make horrible business partners. You have a legendary game dev on your side, and he wants to buy his IP
do you
A. Sell it and continue to grow a healthy relationship by mutually helping one another (DS2 exclusive, Physint exclusive)
or
B. Be controlling and tell the very man who made the IP that he will never get the rights to it. That's one of the easiest ways to never get an email back from a in demand creative ever again.
bbbbbbbut console wars yes?
No, I really did just take a screenshot of what I already had setup. The folder I made (and its contents) ages ago (though HiFi Rush is a newish addition). I grouped Sony and Microsoft together way back when because I thought it'd be funny and because I didn't have many games from either publisher, so having a folder of just one or the other wouldn't make sense. I combined the two to make the folder a little meatier.Your "Sony and Microsoft" folder is very thin on Sony... almost as if you just added DS to it now to troll.
I'd love for Sony to sell IP they aren't going to use to the creators who could use them and maybe get funding elsewhere for them.
Arc the Lad
Legend of Dragoon
Killzone
The reality is you can only make so many games with the teams you have available to you and you can only sell so many games and as you said fostering good relations with business partners is a lot more valuable than holding on to an IP that is uniquely theirs and as a company you don't have much interest in cultivating.
Console war always comes first with these people.
Nintendo is the winner of the console war and they would strongly disagree with all this nonsenseWhat implications? Cool. Nintendo wins the console war, yay i love their games, moving on.Nintendo is the winner of the console war and they would strongly disagree with all this nonsense
Nintendo games on PC? Lol
Nintendo games on other consoles? Lmao
Maybe follow the winner instead of an even bigger loser?
Especially when you make all your studios waste their time on a dozen GaaS games from which you already know only one or two at most might succeed. The reality is you can only make so many games with the teams you have available to you
