Destiny 2 developer Bungie is the latest PlayStation studio to have layoffs. Full scope isn't clear yet, but CEO Pete Parsons emailed the company.

Also I think at the beginning of the year he did a ragebait calling people disliking Forspoken racist and hate PS?

That did not work out well for him since majority PS fans also do not like Forspoken, anyone with taste and two braincells clear can preceive it as a good game.

I think he is trying to switch to appeal to the green rats. They love these things more than PS fans who, prefer playong games.

I dont agree with his takes and don't enjoy all his content but I do tune in once in a while, when I have time and as I said, he makes me feel welcome and has always been very friendly to me.

Typical bandwagoners.

Why didn’t these stories come out before the loss of jobs at Bungie?

Most being non developers at that.

Rumors of Marathon not being good? Goodness Jim wasted 4 billion on a failing company. Shouldve invested in Japanese companies. Total failure.
I'm starting to believe these ex-MS employees are double agents to sabotage Sony. They've had tremendous success for years and suddenly everything comes tumbling down and they're bringing Naughty Dogs along with them?

Yep, the Bungie acquisition was a colossal waste of money with no exclusive benefits for Playstation players and a GAAS mandate from developers who apparently can't even keep all their employees.
What gaas mandate? That didn’t come from bungie. Helldivers2, factions2, concord have all been in development for yrs. In fact concord and helldivers 2 were in development before Jim Ryan even came to power. Bend studio chose their game so did London studio and guerilla who initial wanted horizon to be multiplayer, even sucker punch doing multiplayer was their idea. Only thing that came post Jim Ryan coming to power was a these multiplayer games getting bigger budgets and a few more being added on. Ppl complain about gaas but keep asking Sony to bring stuff like killzone, socom, allstars, mag, Warhawk. All this stuff would be gaas and are iconic parts of history. PS complain about gaas for literally no reason “oh gaas is bad” yeah like single player games can’t be bad. Most single player gaas are utter garbage. In todays gaming market just as many single player games bomb and bring their studios crashing down as gaas games.

To be fair the concept art looked terrible of what I’m thinking of is what Matter was supposed to be.
I think we’ve only seen concept art for marathon and gummy bears. Although there is reference to a game called Goliath which was also rumored to be in production. Matter with just guy the title with a splash of multicolored spray paint or something.

Goliath and warp are destiny. Warp is Final Shape. Goliath is the next major destiny project either game/expansion as they both would be described similarly. Job posting revealed Goliath existing but that also specifically mentioned it would be a major Destiny project. Almost two year old dev slides show that after final shape, the development scope of what follows is as big as final shape itself. Personally I think there will be a year of world state and engine upgrades as Marathon’s launch will be depended on for revenue that year. Allowing them to actually dip off of destiny as they scramble to see what new service model to approach it with moving forward.

Doubtful they’ve shown any concept art of incubated games publicly before like ever. Art page renders shown are hiring pages are just samples and not real games being made. … but … ya know… people run with shit

Matter is gone, cancelled a few years ago. @Yurinka

Bullshit, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office Bungie filled (updated/renewed) this Matter trademark in March 2023, I don't see why they would do this filing if they weren't going to use it:

https://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4809:ji27yl.2.24

I suggest you to don't believe random shit from internet. He also lies here, since Bungie's upper management continues there:

As far as we know the only change was that Eric Lempel (Senior Vice President, Head of Global Marketing, Sales & Business Operations at SIE), who joined Bungie's Board of Directors as part of the acquisition. Sony paid a shit ton of money to keep Bungie staff there, so I highly doubt they'd do any important change in management. And well, at least in LinkedIn they continue at Bungie.

If something, they may fire some lower position guys that aren't needed if they integrate some duplied areas that SIE's group already manages for all their development studios (publishing, marketing, CM, localization, testing). Problably these are what the recently rumored Bungie firings were.
