Digital Foundry claims mid-generation Switch hardware refresh was once planned, but no longer happening and next-gen is next

I agree with this 100%. It seems so obvious, but sometimes Nintendo seems hung up on finding a new "gimmick" when they should understand more than anyone its about the games. Call it the Super Switch. The Switch 2. Whatever. Just keep the successful formula going. Apple is selling the "iPhone 14" for crying out loud.

Yep. Nintendo found what works great for them. A hybrid console. Perfect for those who love Nintendo's handhelds while also giving you the option of playing the games docked. It's literally the perfect combination and setup for Nintendo. I like the name Super Switch. Reminds me of Nintendo to Super Nintendo.

Considering how little I use the switch's portability , if nintendos next system had a version that lacked portability but was maybe a little cheaper, I'd get that version.

I’d even be okay if home version offered no real benefit to visuals and performance either. That would be ideal but to say the least, my expectations from Nintendo hardware is going to be low. I already feel ripped off so I’d rather not pay for a screen or tiny, practically unusable, detachable shit controllers I hate gaming on. 🤣

I only use my switch in portable mode, even when playing at home. It's a really cool console, and I can only hope the next one follows the same format and is backwards compatible.

Where it’s at.

Well, considering how Nintendo is ALWAYS backwards, we are 50% of the way to backwards compatibility!
