Exactly. Which makes it a really standard refresh. This isn’t a PS4 Pro, X1X type upgrade. This is more in line with GameBoy Advance SP, Nintendo Switch OLED. Mid Gen would be Game Boy Color, New Nintendo 3DS.

I bought my Steam Deck so that I could have a portable emulator for all my Nintendo Switch games.Stream Boys are nothing like Nintendo boys such as @Falcs
Dude it’s a handheld that plays Steam games, not really a difficult piece of hardware to grasp conceptually. How can you say it’s overrated, when you never had one? Lol
My first Pro was the limited Star Wars edition, and it HOWLED. That’s why I traded it in.Yeah I honestly don’t remember noise being an issue. Don’t people have the sound going anyway?
lol it was a very well known issue, it was kind of a meme, and it was prominent enough that Mark Cerny even mentioned it in his PS5 presentationYeah I honestly don’t remember noise being an issue. Don’t people have the sound going anyway?
I traded my brother my ps4 pro for his ps4 slim I never regretted it.My first Pro was the limited Star Wars edition, and it HOWLED. That’s why I traded it in.
it's the opposite. i rarely use it outside the house. mostly i use it laying down on the couch with a 65" oled looking at me funny. It’s good on the go, but around the house you’d be better of streaming from the PC I imagine. And I suspect that’s the majority of use cases. Could be wrong.
So that’s what I mean, why play on such a weak chipset when you can stream full fat gfx from a desktop?it's the opposite. i rarely use it outside the house. mostly i use it laying down on the couch with a 65" oled looking at me funny.
that's what i'm saying about "something magical". it's the combination of great ergonomics, easy ui, and being totally self-contained. it's the quickest route to rocket league. So that’s what I mean, why play on such a weak chipset when you can stream full fat gfx from a desktop?
I got it at launch so I got fucked over with the PS4 hair dryer editionThe second version of the Pro, with the figure-8 power connection, wasn’t any louder than the original PS4, either.
Microsoft already had their own with the Rog Ally. LolThey're working on windows dual boot so Microsoft gets its own handheld & they don't even have to pay to manufacture it
I traded mine in for the final revision using the Black Friday promo at EBGames, got the NHL 2020 bundle and traded the game in on the spot for an additional $50 off. I paid $70 for the upgrade.I got it at launch so I got fucked over with the PS4 hair dryer edition
Valve probably making out better than MS on the Ally. The Steam full screen UI is still way better than anything elseon Windows.Microsoft already had their own with the Rog Ally. Lol
Same here, I will be on the lookout for the new one, which is supposedly coming in 2-3 years, it better have OLED from the start and a vastly improoved battery life.Motherfuckers! I only bought mine earlier this year!
Not really an upgrade it's just not got the problem that it shouldn't have had in the first placeI traded mine in for the final revision using the Black Friday promo at EBGames, got the NHL 2020 bundle and traded the game in on the spot for an additional $50 off. I paid $70 for the upgrade.
Interesting. Was that the white one? I can't remember, but I did have a white one and it was on my desk at times. Don't remember it being a problem personally. Must have been some variation? My first Pro was the limited Star Wars edition, and it HOWLED. That’s why I traded it in.
No, the Star Wars Battlefront II Pro was black with a gloss top with empire and rebellion logos on it. Apparently the whole run of that edition had major noise and overheating issues.Interesting. Yikes. Well I believe it happened. I just never had the jet engine experience with my PS4s.No, the Star Wars Battlefront II Pro was black with a gloss top with empire and rebellion logos on it. Apparently the whole run of that edition had major noise and overheating issues.
Nah, some runs are worse than the baseline. Hell, my first PlayStation came from a batch that Sony pulled from retailers due to the drives being screwy.Yikes. Well I believe it happened. I just never had the jet engine experience with my PS4s.
Maybe all the music is making me deaf.
