The thing is Evolution has pretty much been broken up into various codemasters studios under the EA umbrella including the new Criterion.

Well, a bunch of them - including the MotorStorm Apocalypse and DriveClub creative director Matt Southern - have joined Sony's Firesprite studio over the last few years to work on the new Twisted Metal reboot for PS5, PSVR2 and PC. And that's on top of the regular Psygnosis/Liverpool studio veterans who founded Firesprite in the first place.

If they deliver on this current project, I can see them evolving into another racing games powerhouse for Sony capable of bringing back beloved first-party racing franchises such as MotorStorm, Wipeout and, who the fuck knows, even DriveClub.

It was great, but it should have handled the track boundaries differently. I mean, at first as soon as you drove off the track you'd hit an invisible wall , just slowing us down on the grass or other off-road elements would have felt better and it would not have broken the games pace.

What are you even saying? They are very openly discussing how Firesprite is currently hard at work on a new AAA vehicular action live-service game.

You seem to have your head wrapped around the idea that they're not making such game, but Sony's official hiring information argues otherwise. Again, open your eyes already.

It's locked at 30 fps thanks to DF who kept crying like babies about their locked 30 fps modes early last gen.

If it was not for them, and the devs taking this kind of feedback seriously, we could run all those unlocked games at locked 60 on our PS5s now (think Killzone:SF and Infamous Second Son)...
