Still crazy to see Switch sell like tht OLED upgrade or not after all these years on the market.

Idk why Switch still sells like tht. You would think by now everyone already has one.

Mom, Dad, Kid(s), Grandparents.
Cheap handheld with a massive backlog is bound to keep selling well.
Also a lot of the sales will be people upgrading to the OLED version.

Japan itself accounts for a large % of the switch sales pie, must be around 40million+ sold in Japan alone

Think like smartphones… most people upgrade it each 1-2 years.

People that brought the original Switch are still upgrading to OLED Switch.

The upgrade “wish/desire” is way more evident in a mobile device you take with you almost all the time that a console that you play at night for example.

What a bloodbath in favor of the Switch. Sony made a huge mistake by not releasing the OLED PS4 Portable when it became feasible.

It's not even like the Switch OLED is cheap, it's $349,99.

I since responded tht I was thinking of the Vita which started with oled screen and later went LCD. With Switch was the reverse so now it makes sense ppl are upgrading to OLED.

Ghost of T killed it on release. And Dragon's Dogma 2 dropped alot from original in sales if thts the right comparison.

I don’t think these are good numbers but Dragon Dogma 2 are terrible compared with original.

Even accounting crazy digital ratios it is still a huge drop in sales.

I know Japan always has been a pro-handheld market, but Switch is doing a great job there even at this super late stage of their lifecycle.

Regarding Dragon's Dogma and Ronin, may look dissapointing when compared to previous, but we have to remember that over time the % of digital sales increased and that in case of DD2 also has been released on PC day one, which as I remember wasn't the case of the first one.

Of course not, the Steam Deck was released more than 2 years ago. A portable PS4 has been possible for a while.

Once again people will start to pretend that everything is somehow much harder for Sony to do while the likes of Valve, Asus and Lenovo can do it for some reason.

Lower than expected for Dragons Dogma 2 but then it's the PS5 in Japan and I dunno what people buy them for in that region lol.

Ronin did well all things considered, hopefully it will have a good debut worldwide.

PS5 sales are meh...

Digital in Japan is lower than other parts of the world. On average it's between 20%-30%. I think SIE had a graph showing this for their own platform in the Insomniac hack.

DD2 flopped hard, from 320k to 68k. sold 500% less then previous game. uffff.
