Without any price cut.

IMO it will probably be at the end the gen the 3rd best selling PS console there.

PlayStation is facing a big issue for the future of the brand... and the need to start to look into that right now.
I and you are old farts that won't buy PlayStation and their games forever.
To have a band like that you need to get the interest of new consumers... younger gamers.... not the old farts.

The PS6 and mostly like PS7 survive depend of they getting younger gamers on the ecosystem now.

And that is why they are doing a lot of things different and even experiments right now.
They probably have data of how many younger and old active users their have... and it is probably becoming worrisome for them.

They need to have a balance of youngers and older to keep the brand alive.
But they are probably getting a imbalance with way more olders than youngers.

Of course no old fart like when a brand tries to do things to youngers.
But the older as a consumers only last a small period compared with the younger.

I dont mind them trying to bring in younger fans. They need to reach as many people as they can, as many genres etc. Game experiment is fine with me. I support it.

Most my issues come from:
-Price increases
-PC Ports
-Change how they communicate with fans and game announcements. Even though I understand they are changing there method.
-1st Party stuff like Factions 2 Cancellation. How they dealt with Concord. No remakes like Demons Souls since 2020 etc. Plus some 3rd party stuff.

No Doom but some issues I have.

Dont forget older guys like us have also spent close to 1k-10k on games for PSN all these dacades. And if they keep up the good games and service there will be another 30 years spending from me lol. We’re gonna spend more than the average younger who buys 1-3 games a year and Fornite. But Sony needs to cater to everyone

Personally I think is Sony release a Handheld or Hyrbid. Total PS numbers could reach 15-17M again. 20m if it does well. Which would be a huge help in software sales in Japan too

It's not touching PS3 in Japan unless they sell that system over there for the next 6 years with constant price drops.

People get so caught up with PS5 outpacing PS4 they forgot a PS4 had a slow start for awhile unlike PS5 that had the benefit of an explosive 3rd year due to unforseen circumstances.

The true test will be how base PS5 sells as the PRO will be below 10k in no time.

Yes they need more platformers and attempt in these areas. Kids are into all sorts and even adults. So many are playing Fornite and games like that.

Agreed. Ill keep it all exclusive to PS in my opinion like how Nintendo does it. Take it back to the PS3 Gen, I had a PS3, Wii, 360 and PC because hey all offered there own games. Cheaper console prices and loads of exclusives is what bring in people
