And who is gonna make the game? When Toys 4 Bob has been folded into being a COD support studio.

But I did see recently that the remake reached 10 million copies sometime in August.
No idea but the cynic in me says they're ready I announce it but Phil is having a word with his mate bobby & telling him to hold off on it till the acquisition is done so they can twist the knife in more & announce the classic playstation mascot as an Xbox exclusive

SCE Japan couldn't go 3 seconds without catching shit though. The 2011 network outage, the SD Card...

It would bomb the same way Crash 4 bombed. Unfortunately these mascots aren't very popular outside of the nostalgia pull.. The knife would probably be too rusty and break in half the second they tried to twist it.

I bought crash 4 I liked it was abit too difficult though lol spyro would be hard to capture the magic of the original trilogy but I know Sony & insomniac could pull it off if only they owned the IP

It's really weird they didn't lock down Insomniac the same time they got Naughty Dog, Insomniac was loyal to PlayStation for many years.
Insomniac CEO didn't want to sell. Here's an old interview from 2008 where he said no for 10 years. It took another 10 years for him to accept.

It's the same CEO today

Have you been approached by anyone recently with an eye towards acquisition?

You know, it's funny. During the past ten years I've been waving the independence flag so vigorously that I think people know it is not something we are looking to.

But, yes, we definitely get approached by people all the time who are wondering if we want to sell, if we want private equity money - you name it.

And so far...

The answer is always no.

We have a very good thing going at Insomniac right now. We are continuing to enjoy success with our titles. We have a great relationship with our publisher, and there are big things we are planning for our future. I think I, and most other people at Insomniac, are very happy with where we are.

Apple would be terrible they'd charge £1000 for their console & then release a new one every year at that price with propriety cables you have to buy from them at inflated prices 🤣
Sure, but people already buy their hardware by the bucketloads. If you have an iphone or ipad you're already in their potential gaming ecosystem, they even have their little apple arcade thing going. I think Apple would be a company that would devote the necessary resources to make good games.

I don't like them they do some really filthy stuff like they sent out updated to older model iPhones to purposefully slow them down to encourage those people using them to give them more money for a new model they are also notorious for using Chinese sweatshops

Of course they're a shitty company and they gouge their fans/paypigs for whatever they're worth. I'm just saying that I can see them getting into the gaming business in a big way and not being super destructive to the business model.

Sony made them an offer they couldn't refuse when they were approached by marvel & offered to make spder-man games & they offered it to insomniac that's a huge opportunity & money maker for them
Sure but they only got paid $200 mil to get bought out

I meant like when Sony goes shopping usually they kinda calculate how well the studios integrate into their company and when they don't they just left them out independently like Bungie, I suspected if Sony ever acquire SE they would get the same treatment as Bungie.

Job security , working on a huge IP & a 200million dollar pay out is better than your next project possibly flopping
Sure, but like for 10 years of holding out I would've expected them to ask for more. Especially since they made Sony a lot of money with Spider-man

It was Sony that chose them to work on Spider-Man so Sony has the rights to make 3 spider-man games (not sure if miles morales counts I don't think it does) & they chose insomniac as the developer to make them not sure exactly when the were acquired before or after the release of the first one but it's Sony's contact with Disney to make the games so obviously insomniac really wanted to work on more spider-man games with Sony so they accepted the acquisition knowing they would be safe from failure when they're working on multiple Spider-Man games & part of playstation

Yeah I mean it worked out in the end for both of them but IJS looking around the industry it was a steal of an acquisition given how good Insomniac is. Like yeah they didn't own any major IP but the talent alone... Sony paid $1.2b for Bungie's talent retention program by itself, every time the Insomniac acquisition is brought up it's invariably noted that the price paid was a huge bargain for Sony. I just think they could've asked for more and gotten it
