I mentioned this before with the antitrust act and looks like FTC may be pursuing this against Microsoft. Every other gaming news seems to be running with this politico article from Forbes to Jason. We shall see.

All the arm chair analysts. We have them everywhere. Let them feel like assess in the long run.A. Lot of sorry ass Motherfuckers getting very nervious on retardera, gaf and Twitter right now
Its amazing how the Journey to"this is a sure deal guys" to "if this get blocked be scared of what ms. Will do with this money" as been done, xbox fanboys, never Change pls you are the laughing stock of this industry
LOL ok then.Grain of salt just some inference based on what FTC is reviewing.
Nah, sonys best move is to continue to not support the merger. Taking anything from ms now is not better than the merger getting blocked. If the ftc is thinking this way it’s probably a lot worse in Europe and other markets. I think Sonys smart move should be ask for a 10-12 years extension and agreement that Microsoft won’t acquire any more game studios for like 5-7 years. Then make some moves themselves.

Their own source. Is this article based on the NYT article from earlier or Politico have their own (new) sources?

this is a amazing post, you see clowns on retardera like trup1aya,dospeyfish,gay bowser and even mods trying to act like they arent xbox warriors that only want this to pass to hurt the rivalI've seen some of the ridiculousness on the ResetERA thread and it's hilarious. Genuinely don't see how those folks can be so interested in the happenings of this acquisition to post day in and day out about it. Almost like some of them may have stock investments in MS and/or ABK because if your money's not a part of the equation why else dedicate that much time unless you're a fanboy or fangirl?
Also seeing them and "journalists" like Ryan & Destin on Twitter take the Jez Corden approach and turn it into a proverbial gun to Sony & regulator's heads with the threat of everything Microsoft can buy if they don't get ABK is just downright pathetic. Notice that everything they suggest is meant to be something to "hurt" Sony financially in some catastrophic way, which belies part of the reason they want MS to acquire ABK, but are too scared to just admit it.
I don't even think MS want to acquire ABK to deliberately hurt Sony (shocking, I know!), but it says a lot about the fanbase Microsoft has curated over this acquisition that there are a lot of hardcore Xbox console warriors, shareholders/investors (likely masquerading as gamers online on social media & forums), and Western games "journalists" ready to start a Holy War in Microsoft's name against Sony so should the deal somehow end up denied.
Personally I've already said my piece on this: the issue isn't so much MS buying ABK for me (most of ABK's active IP I don't care for anyway, and they probably won't do anything with their dormant IP anytime soon if ever even if acquired), it's what that will likely end up enabling. I.e mass-scale acquisitions of independent 3P developers and publishers, especially large publishers, by big tech companies & investment groups, even outright governments like Saudi Arabia. Literally NO other company will have a problem with getting an acquisition cleared with impunity if they see MS get ABK and no rules or changes are enforced. That's a very scary timeline to me.
So, either the industry self-regulates and sets limits to how many companies other companies can buy, standardizes what concessions all companies have to abide by (especially if they're platform holders), standardizes what amount of time a company needs to wait between making acquisitions, and make sure there's some form of a 3P market still in existence when all's said and done, or government regulators can regulate the industry when it comes to that stuff. And, it would be vastly preferable if the industry self-regulates.
If MS gets ABK, that should be the end of them making any 3P publisher moves for a few years. Whether they feel differently or not doesn't matter; you got the XGS studios, Zenimax and now the ABK studios on your plate. Finish your plate before going back for more. If they want to pick up a small 3P developer or two, maybe, but that's about it. If they can show some actual results in say five years or six years with the acquisitions they already have, then maybe they can pick up another publisher. And enforce that on ALL companies and groups, that kind of criteria. Have industry peers form a council to review results, and industry members representing companies in the market of making investments, mergers or acquisitions can have a process to vote on approval or rejection of attempts, as long as they have good reason to make whatever decision they make.
Otherwise if none of that is going to happen, then I have a much bigger issue with MS acquiring ABK because of the domino effect that will set off going forward. And stupid people on places like Reset seriously trying to use the "but foreign companies will sweep in if the FTC doesn't let MS buy them", borderline xenophobic excuses, it's ridiculous. Or trying to make it some Democrat/Republican crap, "Republicans will use the Democrat-controlled FTC as a rallying cry for rhino voters during the next election!"...who cares? Do you want regulators to do their job, or cower because of political BS outside of their control anyway? Make up your mind.
The best of that was on Twitter with a lot of greens trying to cancel Jason
