you can't even tell, if it is exclusivity bought. a lot of developers just choose not to release games on xbox, and xbots blames PS for it, like wtf?
there are even deals happening because the game has no publisher, so sony risk to publish, so that's where exclusivity can come from.
some IP holders approach for funding and gives exclusivity, like Marvel did with Spider Man, they approach M$, but they declined, so Sony grab them( so now sony is guilty). the same happened with KOTOR.
or exclusivity comes when developers has no funds to create game and said game would maybe never came, like SF5.

All of this is true

I'm not agreeing with COD becoming exclusive but The FTC have no right to block this deal. video gaming is an expensive hobby and exclusivity has always been part of the industry, You want it go work your ass off and pay for it, plain simple. This is not food or internet service 😂 you are not going to die if you didn't play COD.
what kind of stupid argument is shit? gaming is expensive so mega corporations can run free?

This quote means that the headline is totally misleading since they still to have a decision and nobody voted.
The headline is “likely”.

“Feds likely to challenge Microsoft’s $69 billion Activision takeover”

What is exactly misleading? Even FTC employees are skeptical it won’t go sued.

The headlines sounds as if they already investigated it and voted a decision that is likely to result in that.

Later in the article they mention "A lawsuit challenging the deal is not guaranteed, and the FTC’s four commissioners have yet to vote out a complaint or meet with lawyers for the companies", "The investigation remains ongoing, but much of the heavy lifting is completed," and " If the agency does move ahead with a case, it could come as soon as next month,". Meaning they will continue working on it during at least a month and still didn't decide anything.

Sony paying Konami and Square Enix for exclusivity, while yelling how a first party MS-activision exclusivity is unfair. The hypocrisy is incredible 💀
Sony, Microsoft and any platform holder in game history paid to get from time to time 3rd party exclusives (isolated games) for their platform. Now all console makers not only do it for their consoles, but also do it for their game subs. In recent cases, typically are timed console exclusives during a few months or a year.

This has nothing to do with spending $70B to buy the biggest 3rd party publisher, keeping for them their big IPs forever. Sony never did anything similar of that scale, Sony only bought isolated gamedev studios that weren't that big at all.

I dont normally engage with Microsoft employee sock accounts but i wanted to chime in here. Titanfall 1 is still an xbox exclusive. Gears of war 1-3 were third party exclusives until Microsoft bought the ip from epic. High on life, Ark 2, scorn, stalker 2, Warhammer 40k, that fps that came out earlier this year, are third party exclusives for xbox. Every hardware manufacture engages in third party exclusives so the idea that this is a new practice that only sony engages in, or Microsoft cant cut a deal is disingenuous and its outrageous that you or any other Microsoft employee sock account would act like a timed third party exclusive is the equivalent of buying a publisher.

Omg thanks for this new information Mr insiders LMAO

Everybody does exclusivity. The difference is how pity Sony is acting around this accusation. if you want the latest hardware and exclusives then pay bozo how hard is this to understand 💀 if you don't want pay then go play soccer. It's like going to a Gucci store and protesting why the prices are so high 😐 or just stick to free2play broke ass motherfuckers...
Everything you wrote after "Everybody does exclusivity" is incomprehensible, makes no sense, and is an incomplete thought.

When microsoft floods the message board and twitter with their employee sock accounts, theyre not sending their best. Theyre bringing misinformation, theyre bringing lies and deception, theyre shills, and some i assume, are good people.

This is actually a very good reminder.

Gears of War 3 was being worked for the PS3.

Also, cool stuff on metacritic (first gears game by MS Studios is Gears 4)
  • Gears of War - 94 score on Xbox 360
  • Gears of War 2 - 93 score on Xbox 360
  • Gears of War 3 - 91 score on Xbox 360
  • Gears of War 4 - 84 score on Xbone
  • Gears 5 - 84 score on Xbox
You forgot about Rise of the Tomb Raider, where Microsoft reportedly paid 100M for publishing / exclusivity rights

They probably already finished this part of the investigation and now are near the voted decision by the 4 commissioners.
FTC doesn't have anything more to do until the decision is taken.
But staff (the people that did the report hard work for the commissioners take the decision) said they are skeptical of the MS's arguments... so their report follow that.

The chances to a lawsuit happens (so the likely) is bigger than non-happening... the title is a good summary of the article.

Anyone else notice that on resetera its a perma bannable offense to critize microsoft? The zealots and Microsoft employs posing as message board posters are allowed to say whatever they want, gang up on one the one poster that has a good response, and then after awhile the mods ban the dissent. Ive observed this pattern numerous times. There articles about microsoft being sued because the deal seemed like a coordinated way to bail bobby kotick out and im seeing a walstreet journal article talking about activision blizzards stocks falling because of the ftc potentially blocking the deal, but no where to be found in Idas' thread.

Paying for select game exclusivity (by sometimes funding and helping development) does not equate buying a publisher to make it first party. I don't necessarily agree with paying for exclusivity, but damn, they're not even on the same realm.
I can't believe this has to be explained every fucking time.

Yes this has been going on for a long time. It's become an Xbox fan mental healthcare asylum.

Since day 1.
I was banned because this post...

Like I said it is feee advertising for PUBG on PS4.

People see the bundle advertisement... go to store... ask about it and realize they can buy it on PS4... they don’t need the XB1 bundle.

MS had a whole year (including a holiday period) to bundle and market PUBG with Xbox One but choose to do it when the game finally released on PS4.
It was MS doing free marketing for PS4 version.
