Honestly, I think Xbox going the way of the dodo would be the healthiest thing that could happen. Talented devs will land on their feet, overall quality will rise and a lot of the toxic elements and business practices will wither without MS propping up the very worst gaming has to offer. Some publishers will probably have a storm to weather, but it serves them right for the anti-consumer and anticompetitive shit they have participated in for a little gravy from Redmond.

i've thought the same for awhile. you don't spend $70B if everything is going good. this is a desperation move, and one long shot throw to try and remain viable in the market.

Xbox is dying. god damn...

The really scary thing is MS has already pissed away at least that much on propping up Xbox over the last 21 years.

no more campaign, since there's no team left to build it.

my guess is the next halo is either a destiny-lite knockoff, or just a simple, cheap little live service MP only game.

Master Chief will probably written out as well.

Just a tragic end to once storied franchise. RIP halo.

The drama in this thread over Staten going back to what he prefers to do and was doing before being dragged back to 343 is amazing. And I love all the Xbox is dying posts. Shit is hilarious.

The funny thing about this its how oligophrenic xbox fanboys wont stop telling us on social media or forums how Microsoft will do this and that when they buy more publishers and the sorry motherfuckers can even mantain alive his flagship game,in stark contrast of what Nintendo and sony are achieving right now,this is What separate talent and good management from incompetence and empty promises
