Great news.

Interesting to also see it has more followers than the already released Suicide Squad and Persona 3 Reload, and almost Granblue Fantasy Relink, which apparently is selling great too.

The Special Edition is also at #18, that probably gets the combination of both versions somewhere around #8-10 currently.

Also, if we look at the follower count for the game since the first trailer of the year(Jan 9th) it's been strong growth.

Game appeared on Steam on May 25th 2023 and on Jan 9th 2024 it was at 27,750 followers.
It is now Feb 3rd and follower count is at 46,307.

Still 5 days to go, probably be doubling or near doubling the follower count within the last month.
Shows that the trailers have been working, people are interested.

Now it's just a matter of the game being in a good technical state and the reviews being good.
I wonder when the review embargo lifts?

It's a $40 game that has a AA budget and is in the top 15 list of most wanted on Steam and has videos circulating on Twitter and elsewhere. This game doesn't have to sell millions upon millions to be a success. Sony was never going to advertise this hard with tht type of budget and at $40.

The fans have probably done more advertising for this game than Sony themselves, this game could very easily find its audience if people actually knew it existed.

It just seems weird Sony goes out of its way to market shovelware like deathloop and Suicide Squad like crazy but leave their own first party exclusives to die.

It's because they pay PlayStation to feature them in their marketing.
WB spent an ungodly amount of money in marketing in total, I'm sure. Tell me how is that panning out for them?
Of course we still have to see the Week 1 performance on PlayStation across the world, but game is not putting its best foot forward so far.

Anyway, I will agree that they could've done more for the game.

Look at the Helldivers video on YouTube, it got a lot of positive comments. All Sony needs to do is just market this game so more people know it exists.

This is the closest thing we have to a big Budget Warhammer 40k/EDF game.

Before this trailer I knew nothing about the game, plus look at all the comments.

If Sony advertises this properly this could easily sell 5 million copies and more

They'll advertise it more on their consoles recommended titles on the home screen closer to release more then likely as well as their youtube channel. On the Ps5 that's what they did on launch day yesterday for Persona 3 they made damn sure Persona was first before everything else in the explore tab not to mention Thursday they even put its 89 metacritic score up.

It has been shown in several State of Play, PS blog posts and social media, plus ads at least in youtube. It is having a strong marketing, if not it wouldn't be top 10 in Steam sales a week before release.
