They were published when Sony already were a couple years working on their PC strategy. With people like Nixxes porting their engines and people like PS Studios Creative Arts (+ND support) working on the rermake and Iron Galaxy (+ND support) working on the Unchrted remasters.Yeah because TLOU2 and GOT were the last ones where they didn't have PC in mind.
They knew these games were going to be ported, but like the future SP ones, ported by other teams, not by them. So they didn't have to make these games with PC in mind.
The code added to the engine by the porters doesn't affect the console version of future games made with this engine: only affects their PC version. TLOUP1 was mostly developed by PS Studios Creative Arts, who pitched the project and leaded it until Hermen got in charge and knew about the project.Yes, and having to make changes to your engines in order to make the porting to PC easier is in addition to that. Just look at how TLOU1 released on both platforms and in which state Naughty Dogs are.
ND was working on TLOU2, later in TLOU Online when branched out the MP mode, and when released TLOU2 moved to an unannounced new SP game, plus later in early 2023 another SP game.
The ND teams supporting the external teams who were working on Uncharted collection and TLOUP1 and their PC versions were small and mostly juniors being trained.
