Lets not make it seem like Forbidden West is a better game than it actually is. 30-40k ccu is more than what that game deserves

These aren’t even bad numbers lol. Concurrent stat is relevant for multiplayer games more than anything else. Single player games do not hit the kind of concurrent numbers a multiplayer game would. Even less important when it’s a late port and anyone in a rush to play it did so two years ago.

Which is an excellent point, for example I bought this game but I probably won't play it until next weekend. Concurrent user numbers don't necessarily relate to product success for a single player title.

You could say that about any game. Persona and Yakuza were 45k and 46k and they sold 1 million across all platforms so about 200-300k for the PC version with that CCU. That's nothing.

Sony could sell that to future PS5 owners until the 3rd game but they prefer cutting the legs even more on both platforms. The sequel won't even reach half the sales of Horizon Zero Dawn. It's over.

This is the point tho. Those were Persona and Yakuza’s launch concurrent numbers and not two year late ports.

Do you think Horizon would sell 15 million on pc? Those who wanted to play it with any urgency already have. Many are multiplatform gamers. 250k sold would be a success considering the low risk of porting an already successful and profitable product.

Live service yes, other stuff nope.

As a double-dipper I will say Horizon looks amazing maxed out. Puts the likes of Elden Ring and Dragon's Dogma to shame.

For 250k sales you might as well keep it exclusive and try to sell it to the next 50 millions PS5 owners. We're halfway through the gen and the third is years away. Many potential consumers on PS5 alone with the Pro.

Horizon Zero Dawn sold over 24 millions copies. That's like saying to Nintendo you could release Zelda on PC and sell another 250k!!!! They would laugh at you.

old game and its only Thursday. and they want 60 for it.

Why does the age bother you unless you have already played it?

Or do expect preferential treatment on par with PlayStation console owners who buy a Sony console, subscribe to PS Plus and pay 70 dollars for their games?

I think it will sell a lot more than 1.5m overall. It's just a question of how many are full price Vs sale etc.
A lot more? HZD is the best selling PS game on PC and hasn't broken 3M, this one started with fewer concurrent players (less than half), but sure, it will sell squillions!

Yep. But you sound really triggered so I'll let you finish crying while I play some games.

It's a Thursday in the middle of a work day, what are you possibly expecting right now?
Dragons Dogma is at 184.5k and it's the middle of the night almost everywhere. What's your excuse now?

DD2 is an actual success from Capgod. These flops from Sony would bankrupt any other publisher 🤣

Wow it's almost as if it's a new game with an active marketing push, communal discussion everywhere and a price which appropriately reflects its age.

This is kinda funny but, if you add up all the reviews and do that 25x multiplier that people like to use to try calculating Steam sales, HFW: Complete Edition has sold a whopping 26,375 copies on Steam as of right now.

If you want something a bit better, there's this estimate website based on a newer method. They peg it at 82,600 copies having been sold. Still anemic, but better than the x25 reviews method would give otherwise.

DD2 hasn't had much in the way of marketing from what I've seen. The price of a game should reflect its quality, hence why many high-quality games retain their launch prices (or near-launch prices) years after they've come out. Part of that is also on publishers training the customer base to accept those prices for that particular content.

To say Sony have failed to do that with PC gamers is an understatement. But hey, these are all their problems to sort out.
