If not for physical media I would see no reason to own a PlayStation at this point.

If not for GTA6 being console exclusive I would have no game to look forward too now that Final Fantasy Rebirth has released and I would not be surprised if by the time Death Stranding 2 releases it's already a simultaneous release with PC.

Hey, at least they're getting roasted in the comments, aside form a few astroturfing accounts, with comments like "Can't wait to finally play this on PC since my console version crashes all the time:".
Most tone deaf thing ever, like anyone that checks the blog cares about PC. The only pro PC comments on the blog are from Xbox fanboys celebrating the demise of PS

Yep physical games and certain sports games are the only reason I'll get a PS6. It just sucks that games like Fifa are dead on PC and that if you want to have a proper Fifa/2K experience you'll have to cough up $80 a year for ps plus 😐

Thankfully, despite being someone that likes sports I don't like sport games with the exception of Gran Turismo.

Starting with Helldivers 2, I'll try to get all the games that require multiplayer on PC so I can stop paying PS+ in the future. I'm lucky that I also got Elden Ring on PC instead of PS5.

I dont like sports games now either since they're just casinos but it's the only game my family plays these days so I play with them sometimes. I never pay full price for em though, thankfully they go on sale quick

JFC they really have talked more about PC than their own console, officially with fans anyway. I mean the blogs are their direct & main means of communicating long-form with fans, right? They must've forgot most of them have a console.

The problem with your argument is that PlayStation isn't Xbox.

The Xbox was already in decline since the PS3 started outselling the 360. The PS5 is actually selling faster than the PS4.

I've said it before just because two companies do the same thing or even similar things doesn't mean the results will be the same.

Ratchet barely sold on the PS5. Horizon disappeared from the conversation way before a PC release.

To say the effects won't be felt right away, when they haven't been felt at all, and the opposite is actually true, makes for a very weak predictive argument.

Rift Apart sold 4 million copies before the PC port released, and was profitable off PS5 before said port. HFW sold 7-8 million copies before going to PS+. In fact it was the PS+ inclusion that hurt tail-end sales, Sony themselves have admitted this.

You're misrepresenting 360's sales; it wasn't in decline vs. PS3 so much that it didn't have a global market presence the PS3 did. That global presence & distribution was why PS3 was able to virtually tie it in unit sales launch-aligned, but PS3 was obliterated in the two biggest markets at the time for console gaming: US & UK. The PS5 has recently began selling slower than the PS4 and the 25 million FY target was in aim to catch up with & surpass PS4 launch-aligned. They have now been taking measures like post-holidays price cuts across territories like Europe to try help driving sales towards that FY target.

I would not blame all of such measures on the effects of PC ports, but impending software & services revenue, and hardware sales of upcoming systems like the PS5 Pro, could indicate what customer segments are slowing down spending which could help us determine probable reasons for that spending slowing down. I could in fact say that part of PSVR2's slow sales are down to lack of value proposition to prospective buyers who would predominantly be hardcore & core enthusiasts in the console ecosystem, but we can have that discussion another day.

Eh I am old.

Can you lies down with a PC? Didn't think so.

Also won't pay for subpar versions of games or wait 1-2 years for games PS players already played to death at full price.

I mean, no they haven't. Someone just searched for all the blog posts with PC in the content.
