How many days it takes for you to earn 700$ ?

I make it in approx 13 hours of work. So in a day and a half.

My biggest issue is that I can't give Sony the money right now.

Honestly if you live in the USA even with a shitty job that pays less then $15/hr you can reasonably save up for one. Folks act like Sony came out and said it's $2500. Even then idk why that can't be an option.... as I would love to have an absurdly powerful PS

Sure but selling 2-3-5k console is a bit problematic in a way that base customers would always feel like they are never playing optimal version of the game and that real version of the game is out of reach.
700 is still in reach for those who really want it even if they can't outright afford it

Yeah for sure it would send a weird message, but hell id buy one. As long as their entry point is reasonable they can do whatever.

Median wage in the US is like 60k/year, that's $30/hour. It shouldn't take more than 3 days for most people to earn enough for the pro in gross, maybe 5 days net after taxes

I found median to be way better for wages than averages. Averages are inflated by rich guys.
Median shows kinda the most of people typical earnings.

The cost of living is pretty high for americans. Everyday costs are pretty high stateside, the grocery bills alone for a month cost 300-400$ for artificial preservative crap
