The PS4 didn't even make it to 120 million and unless something significantly changes next year, yes I see the PS5 struggling to get to 100 million
?

PS4 was at 117.2 as March 2022.
Do you don’t believe it sold more than 3 million in 2 years?

Most gamers still prefer console games, Steam at most has like a 100 million users in total. It's not even that much
PC is going to present itself as a direct console competitor in due time, it couldn't be more obvious with the advances made with Steam Deck and other similar devices. NVidia/Valve have too much to gain and all the bulk of the hardwork has already been done.

Didn't steam reveal that only a small percentage of users had a graphics card above a 3080?

What does that have to do with anything? The PS5 isn't even more powerful than a 3080. The PS5 is more comparable to a 3060.

Just like console was never about power, the same is true for PC. These days even a low-end GPU like the RTX 4060 or the RX7600 will run anything the PS5 runs pretty well.

Im saying most pc gamers dont even have a good rig, consoles are an affordable entry point into the high end market

Sony can release their first party games on PC day one and PlayStation 6 will still sell 100M+ easily because those who are console gamers aren't going anywhere, those who don't want to spend thousands on a PC aren't going anywhere and if the rumors of a Fall 2028 launch end up actually happening which would make it launch two years after Microsoft launches their next generation console(s) and barring some kind of unforeseen miracle, their console could end up being Wii U levels which in turn will lead to the PlayStation 6 console being more safe and secure than ever before.

As someone who's seen by majority here as the Xbox guy, I don't know why these topics keep popping up with worries about Sony and PlayStation. The brand is strong, the console sales are strong, the software sales are strong, the revenue is excellent and the profit margin while Sony would love it to be higher is where it should be for a company of their size and that is worth just under $100B in market cap. In other words, Sony could hibernate for the next decade and they'll be just fine.
