Because it’s either they think shitting on other games and brand would elevate Xbox, or their willfully ignorant or a corporate slave.
Aside from the disingenuous interpretation where gamepass subscriptions are completely ignored in favor a sales metric which is mostly obsolete for games featured on that service day one… no one is using sales metrics when talking about Redfall or Starfield. Redfall is a pretty huge flop. Starfield is holding on well on console. Starfield on gamepass can bankrupt Bethesda. Microsoft fucked everyone with gamepass

Shockingly however in one month on retail while being sold for rental fees on gamepass, Starfield still managed to blow past ff16. Not surprising tho, as ff16 fell off a cliff.

If starfield was so successful why haven't they released Sales numbers? Why isn't the game charting if it supposedly "blew past FF16"?
What? Did you miss the circana report where it charted ahead of ff16 for the entire year in a single month? Even with gamepass. That’s not a usual trend by any means as gamespass should kill retail performance for any and all xbox games as it has been; even third party games not featured on the service, since those consumers are conditioned to such a gaming welfare programs at this point and not buying software.
It’s charting. Starfield is still holding in the XBL top 10 by being featured on gamepass. Best performance for a gamepass game since forza horizon. Pc and steam is a different story as I’d reckon stuff like 2077 and BG3 displace interest into competing and better quality products.
Why would they release SALES numbers when the PRIMARY method of distribution of the game is a SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE you can get a free trial for by buying a bag of Doritos and Mountain Dew soda.
Bu okay sure… take the completely dishonest stance “bu bu sales!?” when gamepass doesn’t deal in sales. Sales is a completely obsolete metric for Microsoft’s gamepass strategy. Sure it’s dumb as fuck and going to bankrupt every dev house they bought but that’s still the case.
