If the first one is any indication, it will be stuffed with MTX and DLC and likely some pay to win bullshit.

They announced that as of December the TLOU series had sold over 37M copies. The tv show was nice to bump TLOUP1 and TLOU2 sales, but they already had massive sales and popularity (TLOU2 got the best launch for a PS exclusive ever at the time and was the most awarded game ever).

So the TLOU Online game can perfectly skip the wave of the tv show. It doesn't need it at all.

I think it would be better for them to capitalize the season 1 with TLOU2, TLOUP1 and TLOUP1 PC port. And then with Season 2 to capitalize it with the TLOU Online launch, TLOU2 director's cut (PS5 SKU) and TLOU2 director's cut PC port.

TLOU and TLOU2 are potential >20M sellers, and the TLOU online game is their biggest project ever. So I highly doubt it would be F2P, makes more sense to charge $70 for it.
