Err… Trophies, Medals, Achievements, etc are just like NFT Awards.

Like I said it is NFT just not in name.
They have nothing to do with nfts if you can't sell or trade them with other users and if they aren't in the blockchain.

PlayStation Stars, like trophies, achievements or MS rewards or the Nintendo coins are only fidelity rewards to increase engagement that are not related to nfts at all.

NFT is only a technology to allow users sell each other unique digital items in a secure way without needing to make these transactions in a store owned by those who made the nfts. As an example, they could turn the digital games into NFTs to allow a 2nd hand market of videogames. The content of the nft can be any digital item. That's all.

Sell and trade is a by product of the tech… it is optional.

NFT blockchain was created to have a way to validate digital items… to have a certification you have an original digital item made by the artist that signed it.

Like an actual physical item you don’t need to trade, sell or buy it but can if you want… think like NFT as a certificate of authenticity.

True, NFT what mainly does is to certificate and track the ownership of a digital item you can collect. You could earn it as an unlockable for free in a game or someone could give it to you as a gift.

But in the context of capitalism (and particularly commercial games) people try to find ways to get extra revenue and profit from stuff like new technologies like this one. So it's mostly used to buy and sell between users in a 2nd hand market and the creator of that item gets a portion of that, here's the nft business.

In the future, I think nfts will be used to allow users to sell their digital games or -since the trend is to go F2P- to allow users sell each other stuff they bought or unlocked for the game: like skins, weapons, consumables like potions or resource for crafting, etc. Normal stuff you often unlocks in the game and at a certain point you don't need anymore: some players would prefer to get a few dollars by selling these items to other player who wants to progress faster or that simply still wasn't playing the game in the season the game dropped for free certain skin/weapon/armor that you have and he don't. Or well, some other player may want to buy the specific shotgun that certain proplayer did use in an eSports finals or the specific digital panties that some streamer was using in a game.

But obviously nobody forces you to buy or sell anything.

I will be highly surprised if PS Home 2.0 isn’t announced with PSVR2 considering how popular VRCHAT is these days. I almost feel like PSVR2 is Sonys real way of getting into the metaverse and the entire idea behind bringing it back

Bringing back PS HOME would put Sony ahead of all its competitors with the metaverse, considering they have the user base, the technology, and the software, where as everyone else only has pieces
I think it's a given that PSVR2 will ship with Home 2.0, they would be mad not too
