Microsoft will own Activision-Blizzard, Call of Duty and some of the biggest gaming IPs in the world.
We're talking about a Microsoft with two huge publishers (ZeniMax Media, Activision and Blizzard) and another ~20 gaming studios. They will be unstoppable.

Xbox had it going good with the original xbox and 360 but for some reason you are being delusional about it, kinda pathetic, tbh lol.

OG Xbox was basically carried by Halo and "DreamCast 2" sequels library. And they cut bait on that console early cause of some b.s. with NVIDIA.

Xbox 360 got that COD marketing and GEARS, and released early. Still had BS like paying for online implemented. Those few years where "OG XB/DreamCast 2" morphs into 360's early years are an outlier in general console history.


If SEGA had have been able to put money in the coffers for an actual DC2, upgraded to broadband, playing DVD's, and continuing the prototype motion controller, then there's no need for XB, and the praise it gets for Live and Nintendo gets for motion controls would be more properly attributed to the real innovators. Afterall, what is SEGA Channel if not a 90s technological implementation of GamePass/monthly free games?

Though Sega running the Xbox division would be a reason to buy an X-cast/Mega-Box

Even if Starfield is as good as it needs to be, I'm going to experience it as a Steam game. The Xbox aspect will be an annoying extra login ruining the Steam Deck experience, and worrying about the safety of my cloud save.

I like that Xbox and PS are both porting to Steam now, but for Xbox it just means I never need to own one.

Both MS and Sony are in a weird spot porting to PC, where Nvidia is really dominating on technical innovation. But they have to be fully invested in AMD on consoles. With Sony buying Nixxes, they have specialists to help out. With Xbox, I think a lot of their internal teams are really more comfortable with PC than console development. Redfall being 30fps on Series X is the latest example.
