It still makes no sense for Sony to undercut their console, following MS into the PC space.
It's time for Microsoft to pull the plug on Xbox.

Shawn Layden was more of a combination of Jack Tretton + Shuhei Yoshida. He also only had the role of being in charge of SIE Worldwide Studios for a few years.
I think it was Kaz, Jack Tretton, Andrew House, Shawn Layden, Then Jim Ryan as the public faces.

Anyway, not to be pedantic about it. He's the guy they put on stage as the face of playstation for several years after Kaz.

Because E3 and PlayStation Experience happen to be in America. Jim Ryan use to show up on stage at Gamescom as well.
Some executives are more reserved when it comes to that stuff. It's like that John Kodera guy never existed.

Jim Ryan is a lot like Andrew House but people hated him from day one. People also disliked Shawn Layden before he was fired btw. There was never anything close to what we see with Phil Spencer with either PlayStation or Nintendo executives (not even with Reggie or Iwata).
As for Jim Ryan, only with the recent developments most people started to recognize that he has in fact done pretty damn well at his position. His first impression was pretty bad with the whole Sony hiding that some games were crossgen but that's probably his only big blunder. People also disliked him from his honest comments about PS1 games like Gran Turismo looking dated as hell.
The whole meme about Lying Jim makes no sense coming from people that worship Phil Spencer the biggest liar this industry has ever seen.

that's my memory too. Not discounting that House and Ryan were in the mix at the same time as Layden.
Probably going on to talk about how everything is fine and to look forward to their summer showcase.
He is definitely in pr mode viewers will be able to submit questions for him.
No doubt his arse is a foot above the meat grinder with share holders at xbox.
Shu is the goat and real gamer out of the crowd. He is the man! With tons of hours logged in not only on PS consoles but Nintendo as well.

Shu made Playstation Studios what it is today, no doubt. His only miss was not understanding Demons' Souls.

We want our games to reach as many households/gamers as possible [so please buy into our mediocre game pass].
Damn yeah, the mastermind. He's been quiet as of late until they announce PS6 and if he's involved the logistics of it.
Fully expect the we would like to thank Phil for all his hard work at xbox over the years speech. He will definitely get pushed out at some point.
