Nice to see GT7 in the charts, that game will have long legs.
Also good to see TLOU2 and Spiderman 2 in the top 10
Love to see those homegrown games killing it. Sony knows to keep investing in those! Ppl say we shouldn't play or worry about sales, thts the dumbest angle I've seen as a Haber, of course you should. Without sakes those games die rip Resistance :(

Interesting how once again we see how PlayStation has a much bigger impact on which games end up top of the charts when compared to Xbox.

Tekken 8 2nd on PSN, 4th on Xbox, ends up 2nd on NPD
Persona 3 Reloaded 4th on PSN, 0 on Xbox, ends up 4th on NPD
Last of US 2 at 9th
Spider-Man 2 at 10th

This continues to happen over and over, and the install base difference in U.S is not that big. People who want to keep saying bs like gamepass doesn’t kill sw sales, well. Along with the ports.

Great point. I know Persona was on gamepass but it not charting at all on xbox is telling. Looks like yakuza charted pretty low on the PS chart, maybe that long term xbox marketing is making it a less desirable franchise to PS owners so theyre opting for sony first party instead?

I don't think that would have an impact at all, this is a long standing series.
The simplest answer is just that Persona is selling better in the US on PS/PC than LaD is, it is the bigger franchise even if LaD has grown tremendously in the West since Yakuza 0.

Edit:

GT7 is making $$$

These stats directly contradicts the thread from Mat yesterday about console sales dying.

PS5 is actually selling more than PS4, it's Xbox that is dying. He knew that already when he made that statement making people think BOTH consoles are underperforming. What a fucking asshole. Another one paid by MS like Chris Dring. We can't trust any of them.

Where are the regions where PS5 is behind PS4 to make up for the PS5 being 7% ahead in NA?

It's ahead in the US and in JP, it's Europe which is lagging behind.
As for Rest of the World, that shit is unknowable to us mortals.
Yes, Europe seems to be the territory. Higher prices, less disposable income than US households and high inflation over the past two years.

There has also been less stock available compared to US, which was a strategic decision when supply was limited.

There are some discounts now in parts of Europe though, let's see if it can improve things!
