Can't remember the numbers but the Japanese association of game publishers shared some numbers with the digital split. They weren't exact either, can't remember how they were: maybe was for all consoles, or only for Japanese publishers, or something like that.We really don't know digital splits in Japan though? And according to your logic that would mean almost every PS5 sold in Japan the owners goes digital lol.
We also know that Japan, like in the rest of the world, a majority of their gaming market is in the -digital only- mobile gaming market, but with the particularity that in Japan compared to the other countries moved even more to mobile, and where Switch also has a way bigger market share because Japan always had a higher prefernce for portables and Switch now has the monopoly of the portables. PC gaming, a basically digital only market, has been also growing recently in Japan.
That sales ranking only show a few retail games out of thousands of different retail games being sold every week. There are many physical games being sold that don't appear in the ranking. And yes, if worldwide around 67% of the PS game sales are digital pretty likely in Japan too, and maybe even more.
