None of the games Square Enix releases ever meet their expectations because their expectations are unrealistic as fuck.
I understand that 3m for a FF on PlayStation is at the low end… Square Enix is probably not happy about that.Apparently some people were arguing when sales of the game announced it at 3 million on PS5 that the game was a failure and needed to be ported to other systems in order to be profitable
which, maybe ports do bring in more profits, but Square didn't need saving so to speak nor was 3 million some horrible disaster (probably, I dunno what Square needs for this to be profitable). Plus PC sales aren't gonna make THAT much of a difference, and I imagine the same holds true for Xbox. Though, i do like to point out that PC sales are a slow drip; the store and content stays the same between generations, so sales slowly increase over a long period of time on PC.
Yeah, it is just a sliders.. no xbot said ever about Series SIt's not difficult to port at all...

We call that the State of PC Gaming. This is a sad list of numbers.
It would, at the very least, need to have the second screen content moved into its own menu accessible via a button press, have its resolution increased, and have lots of text and UI assets remade or replaced to be able to look okay on a single HD screen. It would also need its battle menu moved to a single screen as well, and it'd have to have some UI elements adjusted for 16:9 and fix anything that breaks from making the game 16:9. These are not trivial changes, and even then, it may be deemed unacceptable by Square due to the models and textures being low poly and crunchy due to compression (i somehow doubt ps5 gamers would be happy with something similar to how FF III 3D and IV 3D looked)
I'm sure Square finding the numbers sad is why theyve been releasing them there for over 10 yearsThis is a sad list of numbers.
This is such a lazy way of handling this.
This is such a lazy way of handling this.
So the peak went to 27.5k and that's it
Estimated to have sold below 150k the first week
I'm reading the comments elsewhere and people are super positive about the FF16 and GOWR sales on PC after disparaging the PS sales for over a year. It makes zero sense but somehow the blame is all on Sony.
Selling 100k on Steam is incredible wow amazing.
tl;dr
PC-Gamers fail to make another game financially viable.
Next.
The same suits who were stupid enough to think releasing their biggest games on PC would be a good idea are bound to reach that same conclusion. What’s hilarious is that many of them think Sony will eventually release Day 1 if they sell poorly cause of the delay and lack of hype.
But you need to adjust the number for inflationJust to add the bar for comparison I just checked.
FFXV took a bit over a year to reach 1 million sales in Steam.
That means if FFXVI can't do 1 million around the same time then it indeed flopped.
We need a throw up emoji for that narrative lol. They were shitting on those games when they came out just like every other PS exclusiveWhat’s hilarious is that many of them think Sony will eventually release Day 1 if they sell poorly cause of the delay and lack of hype.
Vocal PC-Gamers remind me of online-boycotters or those FFF-Kids pre-Covid.What’s hilarious is that many of them think Sony will eventually release Day 1 if they sell poorly cause of the delay and lack of hype.
Big spenders lolThis is a sad list of numbers.

That's the thing. Any other company would stop after all the bad press and drama devaluing their brand for so little sales but Sony keeps doubling down. The same suits who were stupid enough to think releasing their biggest games on PC would be a good idea are bound to reach that same conclusion.
The Lego game will maybe sell 5% on PC.That's the thing. Any other company would stop after all the bad press and drama devaluing their brand for so little sales but Sony keeps doubling down.
Until Dawn and Lego Horizon are Day 1, the Horizon and Days Gone remasters will probably be too. They are dumb over there. Self sabotage.
