Anyone with a functional Brain could tell it was bogus. But hey... According to some here going against trusted Colin makes you a shill. 🫡
lol I'm saying

I think when you have a hate mob like that, they'll believe anything if it means bashing a game, even when you troll them and provide a number just wildly high

I'm not even sure how anyone could believe 400 million was spent on the game and its team is a fraction of the size of other teams, in development for less time etc Its like none of the registered and they started foaming at the mouth to talk about something no one actually really confirmed

It s obvious the numbers where fake since start.
People needs to use a brain sometimes.

- No $400k game will be sold at $40.
- If Concord was $400m then others key games where what? $1b?
- If games would or Concord was $400m to be done then nobody would be developing games right now and everybody should be bankrupt.

That is something I realized before and talked here… Sony marketing with Concord was near zero… lackluster.

You didn’t saw any ad on popular media 😢
this story in general has a lot red flags.

the marketing was small because they know the game was not going to hit big. but at the same time they made a special controller and have an episode in the Amazon TV show.

That's right it's 600 million now
That can't be real people are spreading misinformation about Sony! I say good! If they don't like it they can release a statement breaking down all the costs that went into Concord.

It's their own controller that they were going to sell. Do you seriously think it costs them that much money? They run a batch with a decal.

The Amazon show they don't pay for that. That's on Amazon. It's part of an anthology with tons of IPs from different publishers. Sony is not involved there.

thats not the point... Helldivers didn't have one.

im not taking a out the cost but the confidence Sony had in Concord. why a short of Concord when Sony has more IPs.... why not a Helldivers short for example.

Because Helldivers 2 was already established and would make no sense. Concord on the other hand would have benefited more from the show than a game that would have sold over 15 million by then. And there's hardly anymore story lore to give Helldivers 2 a full episode.

Why did Astro Bot get a controller and Horizon Forbidden West didn't.

When you have an agenda, everything has to fit your agenda.

The explanation is often much simpler. Sony hadn't really thought or executed on doing this for all their major releases.

The first one to get this on PS5 was God of War Ragnarok.

Same reason why Miles Morales, Returnal, Rift Apart didn't get them.

No one thought Helldivers 2 was going to be a major release and thus it didn't get one. Same reason why we didn't get one for TLOUP1 and why we probably won't get one for Until Dawn or even Lego Horizon Adventures. Same reasons we didn't get them for Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin.

Concord is a first party game and a studio they just acquired, I'm sure they had confidence in the game before the disastrous debut. After the State of play and reactions they pretty much went radio silent on the game until it was time for the beta... Do you think Shows and controllers were made between May 31st and August 23rd? 💀

Why did Astro Bot get a controller and Horizon Forbidden West didn't.
Probably because Astro Bot was scoring 90+ internally. aka Sony was confident Astro was going to be critical hit. and it made sense due to how it uses the dual sense (it's basically a character inside the game)

When you have an agenda, everything has to fit your agenda.
nah.

Major releases get a big push
The first one to get this on PS5 was God of War Ragnarok.
huge release
Same reason why Miles Morales, Returnal, Rift Apart didn't get them.
miles was a stand alone expansion.
Reurnal and rift apart were not major releases

No one thought Helldivers 2 was going to be a major release and thus it didn't get one.
that's the point

Same reason why we didn't get one for TLOUP1
the marketing for TLoU was insane
and why we probably won't get one for Until Dawn
until dawn it's a low effort remake of a niche game
or even Lego Horizon Adventures.
It's a 6-8 hours licensed game. it's not a major release.
Same reasons we didn't get them for Stellar Blade
it had a strong marketing
and Rise of the Ronin.
mid game.

but that's the point.

why Concord didn't had a huge marketing?
Easy, bad reception from the State of Play? Terrible pre-orders leading up to he beta? To the point they had to make it open to PS+ base since not enough people preordered, things were scaled back
