The logic is Sony wants PS4 users to move to PS5, the more games you put on PS4, the less likely that is. They want people to re-up their investment in PlayStation. They probably could have scaled down helldivers 2 to run on ps4 too.

1. I stated they could port other (live-service) PS5 titles to PS4 with the same logic but they didn't simple as that. You brought up MLB which contradicted YOUR statement of live-service not able to be on PS4.

2. Jim Ryan considers PC as an competitor per his own remarks, they've been already porting to a competitor. Some claim Sony sees Xbox only as a competitor which I brought up the MLB license. NSW/Xbox ports came after MLB forced them after meeting Phil Spencer. Them not dropping Lego Horizon on Xbox reinforces that actually.

3. Stop saying it's my excuse. Do your due diligence and get a class in comprehensive reading. It's Sony's decision.

I'm at a point that I would welcome day and date with PC for every PlayStation game so I could move on to Switch 2 + PC without a second thought. I'll get my physical media needs taken care by Nintendo and PC offers me a lot of advantages over PlayStation, free online, free cloud saves, better refund policy, better library, better prices.

Now that Xbox is dead, PlayStation might just have become the worst place to play.


Far from it, they might be technically competent but they don't have the raw talent and creative vision of the likes of ND, SSM and Team ASOBI. But more and more Sony studios are becoming bland like Guerrilla, might be their influence spreading.

PS knowing Nintendo or Steam will never release there games on a PS platform now releasing there games on direct competitors. If PS wanted to bring a new audience or make players more invested in there franchise they would do what Nintendo, Activision & Sega are doing & release more games from there franchises in different genre & styles. Also produce more 1st party overall. All of these ports just make 3rd party day why tf would we make FF or Persona PS exclusive & harm/limit our franchise when not even you keep your games exclusive hell you releasing your games from key franchise on rival direct console platforms. If there's a PS IP (modern) that makes sense as a LEGO game it's Horizon (considering they are pushing astrobot as their "exclusive" mascot). Decent characters, nice setting, dinosaur robots... Kids love this stuff.

They have some other IP that could work like R&C, but there's not nearly the same mindshare.

i don't think horizon has very much mindshare, which is probably why they went with this collab. doubt many people outside of hardcore console players know what it is. one of my coworkers bought a ps5 on my recommendation and it came packed in with horizon forbidden west and they still haven't played it after 2 years since all they want to play is madden lol

HZD + HFW have sold >30M copies, have their own LEGO collection... It has a lot more mindshare than R&C and other "cutesy" or "marketable" characters.
