Checkpoint Gaming - Luke Mitchell - 7 / 10

LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a different take on both LEGO and Horizon as a series, with mixed results. The charm of experiencing the epic Horizon Zero Dawn story in this family-friendly brickified way is unmistakable, with strong visuals and a fully voiced cast going a long way in making things feel epic. It's a shame that the repetitive mission structure and overall short adventure stop it from becoming something truly special, not fully nailing it as either a LEGO game or a Horizon game. Still, as far as family-friendly cooperative gaming romps go, it's polished, silly and sure to generate some laughs for the more casual or younger gamers in our lives.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is a great way to experience Horizon Zero Dawn, but it isn't the best way. That's what the recent remaster is for. Either way, you can't go wrong here, as Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo deliver an excellent title that'll resonate with younger players and fans of the series.

Additionally, the pricing seems off-target for what it offers. Sacrificing Killzone for such productions raises some regrets, though hopefully, it leads to dedicated LEGO kits like the one for Tallneck.

Guerilla and Studio Gobo did good work in making a co-op family game for all, and even moreso fun if you've played the Horizon games and see how they've adapted the serious storyline into a LEGO-fied concept. A fun experiment, in other words.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is great entry point to the Horizon or even a compliment to existing fans, even if the gameplay doesn’t translate equally, you’re bound to have a great time for players of all ages.

Want a Lego’s game? Go TT Games… don’t try in house or even some random studio that nobody knows what can do.

I think its time Hermen get’s his marching orders soon… I dont know what his fans are expecting anymore. Why defend him. He’s had his time and doesnt need more.

If he’s not in charge of some of the decisions PS Studios has made, then why defend that position in the first place if its just a puppet job.. And if he is a part of the decisions like Jim Ryan said Hermen was, including his faster push for PC ports (which jim blocked), then he’s not doing a good enough job with how many projects get done and quality.

Someone Ryan Smith or Joel Goodsell who both have made more quality games and handled multiple AAA projects at the same time

A below 70 first party game from PS studios & Guerilla Game fuck Herman doing everything to kill PS hardware, PS business, PS brand & there own first party studios & renounce ip.

Great way to kill Horizon. If that Horizok Monster Hunter & Horizon MMO are flops that’s the final nail for the Horizon franchise. Between Guerilla focus on multiplatform releases & DEI I don’t expect the next mainline Horizon game till 2030 & by then who will care about Horizok after these past blunders & brain dead/short sighted decisions by PS leadership.

Didn’t totoki say how he wanted to improve quality? Let me guess Lego Horizon is another DEI agenda focus kids game? How tf do you fuck up a simple universal/kid friendly Lego game.

Since the gen has started & PS releasing games multiplat it’s been nothing but bad news, PS quality going down, PS studios shutdown, PS exclusive games no longer hitting like they used to on PS4, multiplat bombs diminishing the PS platform against competitors & PS first party output not being boosted & wasting hundreds if not low billions on cancelled projects or investment that blew tf up on Sony/PS face.

I expected it to be around 70 rated game, unfortunately the suits going to look at sales on this one cause that's what it is for.
But excellent metrics for the suits thus far day one PC/multiplat: Concord, Until Dawn, HZ remastered, Lego Horizon.
