They might ignore that as long as he's in favor of the deal. They already ignore Lulu's anti-union behavior.
Yeah, that's what they'll likely do. You can be a racist, misogynistic, sexist, homophobic dipshit but if you're a well-known name and Team Green, the ones who run ResetERA will probably find a way to "conveniently" ignore those issues.
Keep in mind I'm not saying Hoeg is any of those things; Reset's also infamous for banning people for having opinions that are even
slightly not 1000000% lockstep with the beliefs of the mods and admin (at least the vast majority of them), especially if it's anything that can even be considered slightly political.
In other words he could have absolutely banal GG-era takes about actual journalism standards & writing quality, but if a single example turns out to be a female writer, that's probably a bannable offense over on Reset.
I missed those. What did she say?
You didn't miss anything worth reading.
One more..."the regulators should look out for consumers, not try to protect Sony. Xbox would still be in third place after the deal closes. They should allow competition not protect the current market leader."
It took this deal for all of those fanboys to collectively accept that Xbox is in last place (to look like an underdog) after years of denying it.
That's funny because factually it's false. Going by revenue, Xbox already generates about as much as Nintendo annually; if MS were to acquire ABK in full, they roll ABK's revenue into Xbox's and ABK makes about $8.8 billion in annual revenue. Xbox made $16.28 billion in revenue FY 2021.
PlayStation revenue FY 2021 was $24.4 billion.
So adding Xbox's and ABK's FY 2021 results would easily get you $25.08 billion in combined FY revenue, which is clearly not only much higher than Nintendo, but even higher than Sony. What's to say ABK's results won't increase going forward? That would just increase Xbox's revenue that much more. So between the Big 3, Xbox would actually be in first place by revenue if the ABK deal is approved.
The question, is if Microsoft deserve to basically buy their way to that position by using money earned from all of the non-Xbox divisions of the Microsoft corporation? Because that is essentially market share bought, not earned through winning competition in the market where Xbox suddenly gets a big revenue boost if the deal's approved. And that's something regulators are considering, rightfully so. Also worth noting that while Xbox is probably easily in 3rd when it comes to gaming profits, Microsoft, Xbox's owner, does not need Xbox profits in order to justify the division's existence. They haven't needed that for over 10 years, if not longer. Microsoft has not required Xbox to operate as a self-sufficient entity for 22 years, because Xbox revenue & profit means nothing to their bottom line.
It's exactly why they can do buyout strategies like with Zenimax & the attempt with ABK, and not bat an eye. And when entire regulatory bodies raise obvious concerns, it's Microsoft giving the confused face like
"What!? We can't just buy our way to the top!? We thought this was normal!!"
