Forgot to add - The same european commission that was told by Microsoft that games would not be pulled from playstation after the Zenimax acquisition now trusts that shit company again. Microsoft who, for multiple times, have promised to course correct shit in the EU and did not.

Nice.
Yeah, m$ paid multiple fines in EU and was deamed anti competitive. Like how you never learn? Stepping on the rake and get your nose broke multiple times.

MS also make very subpart products and is particularity bad at making games, I just don't get how anyone other than people that own ABK stock would be in favor of this deal. Even MS shareholders don't seem to care about the deal being blocked, getting out of the gaming business is seen as a positive thing by them.

The EC recently has been like this
  • Hey guys, here's a study by the EC that shows that Inflation is being caused by a shitload supply related issues, as well as corporate greed.
  • No problem, we'll increase interest rates, maybe a recession will help
  • Oh, Inflation is not going down because increasing interest rates does not address supply related issues and corporate greed. Consumption is actually falling
  • No problem, we'll keep on increasing interest rates since we really need a recession
This decision is not unexpected.

Absolute facts, it's a mix of incompetence and corruption IMO.

The ABK stock is still nowhere close to where it was before the CMA block, this reads like the deal remains dead and odd of it being resurrected are still slim.

is was expected, the eu is weak, but this is a blessing in disguise, this will drag ms for some good time for nothing

100% agree, keep Microsoft fighting for this Activision deal for as long as possible... years and years.

Let them put their game production secondary to their corporate greed and keep putting those underccoked games on their rental service. In the end it benefits PlayStation and Nintendo gamers.

I swear i'm getting the vibes that EC want CMA to take the responsibility of blocking it.

They agreed with the CMA on cloud concerns and market definition basically giving the CMA ammunition against a possible appeal and to reinforce a block/divestiture.

And accepted some junk deals that will be laughed out the building if used in an appeal.

There's a narrative going around about parliament pressuring the CMA into folding after some hearing. I knew the EU verdict was going to get the zealots back into a frenzy, lol. Even the ones here think it's safe to come out of hiding, lol.

Yeah, the obvious downside is that the psycho pro-acquisition crowd will be talking shit for another few months until they run out of steam and need another reason to get energized again.

It's irritating.

Depending on how good the Playstation showcase is, they might run out of steam again, lol.

I'm hoping for an announcement of the event tomorrow.... even that announcement would be a palette cleanser imo.

But if it was a great show, with some unexpected high impact announcements, it would blow them all out of the water.

I just wish we could get a PSX, that would really get the PlayStation fanbase to bulldoze everyone else... you know how the PS fanv=base is when there is some thing great happening.... just unstoppable.

As fellow European I feel ashamed. I had a hunch they would side with Microsoft. Bowing down to the likes of Microsoft, I feel disgusted. Anyway in 2 months is the deadline for the deal, if the shareholder don’t agree for an extension of the deadline, Microsoft then will have lost.
