Making games takes time. Microsoft ran out of time. They can't wait another 5 years. I believe they are totally fucked up..
Moving Season 5 GIF by Friends

Will MS take away that 66 billion. My understanding from corporate work world if you don't spend the money given to your division. Finance /procurement take it away. And you get the original quarterly budget assigned. But here xbox gonna have to pay Acti 3 billion so that's like what 3 -4 years gaming budget taken away?? But who knows. Who the F knows.

They've really tried to make game dev cheaper & quicker. They tried the double AA games 2- year dev cycle. Doesn't seem possible at high quality. Can you even make a Good side scroller in 2 years from ground up?? Bleeding edge, Grounded, sea of thieves, halo infinite ,redfall. Doesn't seem do able. They've really tried F2P,MTX,AA blend. But that doesnt work on console. Those games probably would of been made quicker & worked on mobile you know thinking about it. I'm a nobody with no game industry background. How do I notice that??

I don't think they are screwed. Just status quo remains. They still have proper games coming ,doom, starfield, contraband. Outer Worlds 2. meedy(average/middle ground) games. They just have to live in 3rd place. Not sure why this irks them when they don't want to put in the work & compete. They have money to make deals.

The biggest question is after this ABK debacle will they still have 3rd party pull for gamepass?? A lot of company's seem burnt and cheated by those deals. And with games like Harry potter's and what not selling 15 mill. Low game sales numbers . GP effect backfired on them??

I think I remember that!

It's really telling, isn't it? One side can talk about buying the entire industry for 2 years or so and the other side can't do anything even close to that for a couple of weeks.

They have people in key positions holding the PS community down. Suppressing our voices and injecting their own to subvert the direction of the industry....

We hear all these false narratives all the time... physical is dead, streaming is the future or gamepass is the future, ABK is good for the industry etc etc.

Also perpetuating false narratives like Jim Ryan 'went crying to the CMA' or 'Jim Ryan told the CMA what to say' or 'only PlayStation does 3rd party exclusives and they are anticonsumer'...

It's from almost every media source too and the only solution is for the PS fanbase to band together and create new websites, build bridges between creators and put the truth out there for people.

This place is only part of the puzzle that needs to come together.
Sony should head alll that off at the pass though. Launch their own "gaming news" thing integrated into the app/PS UI. It's pretty easy to stop misinformation first or trounce it into the ground asap releasing directly to their consumers. Of which PS4 and PS5 vastly out number XB's. I'm talking about hitting the non informed casuals who might not go on something like Twitter or Wired, but their knowledge is shaped by shit on gamingbible via Forbes or whomever.

Pretty hard for a narrative to take place if it's stillborn. Addressed/squashed by Sony themselves. Sony's limp wristed silence has served them poorly since before Layden left.

I’m pretty sure this Yoga Flame is an MS employee.

Read Menchi’s, modiz’s and LightKioski’s posts. Menchi is doing the biggest heavy lifting, though. He enters the thread continuously to shut down every single lunatic argument the bots comes up with.
Reddit needs more people like that. It also has a problem with people coming up with all of these ridiculous arguments for why the appeal should go through, mainly that the CMA supposedly miscalculated the cloud market share and that MS don't have an advantage there.

There's also the usual suspects in the media complaining that the cma shouldn't have blocked the deal.

Xbots are amusing, they're only now realizing the obvious, I quote:
Its more than Gaming at this point. Microsoft as a company gows through aquisitions. So if they can't aquire a Gaming Publisher in a market they are last place in, because of a supposed conflict of interest in a market with a userbase that doesn't even crack a million users worldwide, and in all likelyhood is a quarter or half of that (Cloud Gaming), there is no way in hell they'll be able to purchase anything for anything. And they can kiss goodbye to any AI Aquisitions, thats for sure.

Oh, you sweet summer child, have you just now realized that?
Yeah, you hit the nail on the head, CMA's main goal here is to stop MS and other big techs to hoard all of the technological IP's in the world. It seems the brits want to be the biggest barrier in stopping these cancerous companies in their goal to dominate the world.
And I support them so. I wish CADE and other regulators did that too, but sadly, most are corrupt and susceptible to money, bribe and lobbtying.

Pretty funny how they think Xbox's only option is to buy everything. Consistently making good games was never an option in their minds.

That idiot Danny wants MS and other big tech companies to pull out of UK so that he can get more games on gamepass. Do people at era have brains? Have they stepped outside their house and worked a day in their lives? They are really living in a bubble there.
Yeah, they're definitely not pulling out of the UK just to get an advantage over Playstation in the console market.

It's just hilarious that they think leaving the UK, one of the biggest markets and stock exchanges in the world is an option...

It's equally hilarious to me that they also believe Michael Pachter has a clue what he is talking about when he says MSFT can ringfence / keep ABK in UK separate to everything else and that would make the regulation somehow not apply to them.

MSFT still has to own the subsidiary, it's not like the regulator is somehow powerless to react to that, it's the exact same shit as them owning them directly and being integrated..... it's still off limits.

See.... it's the arrogance mixed with ignorance that really sets me off.... Pachter is a wind-bag.
