Yes, actually. Because Sony owns the game

Lmao you cannot be serious.

Right now there is no Chipotle in my town. I love Chipotle. The fact that Chipotle doesn't feel the need to open a franchise in my town doesn't mean I can walk in to another Chipotle and take a tub of steak cubes.

Yes?

Lmao there are zero actual issues using a VPN. There are tens of thousands of people using VPNs for PSN.
Okay so i am unjustified in asking to legally buy a game coming to my platform because they want to market to my platform and the only reason i can't buy it is because i am in the wrong country, and that makes me entitled?

You can ask to buy it.

Where it crosses the line is when you decide to take it illegally because the company says "no".

That's what i am saying tho, i can neither buy or play it because of my geographical location.

But let's bury the hatchet, i really don't want to have mortal enemies on day 1 of my fourm existence 😭

So it's alright to exclude someone from games "you publish" just because they live in countries where you don't provide services in the countries they live in?

Eh... yes? I don't mean to be or sound rude, but if a company (of any kind) is legally unable to operate in a country, either because they can't or because they don't want to, then the people of that country won't be able to have access to that company's products.

In this case it's Sony with videogames, in other cases it's whole products which simply don't sell in specific countries, in others again their might be some other kind of issues (in Germany for example we had some games banned or censured here in the past because of the USK, Germany's parental rating).

But there is a difference this time, for example for my friend, Dragon Age inquisition is banned in her country that i she legally buy, right, so she asks me if i can gift her that, which i can't because its banned.

Sony operates in my country it just doesn't have a PlayStation Network presence, they even sell PS5's
The Problem is not that they can't, it was possible just a little while ago to buy it, but it's a sudden change in Sony Policy to exclude anyone without an account, that's the part i can't get behind.

Also no offense taken, it wasn't rude at all

I think i messed up here to be honest, really don't think my argument is welcome

Maybe the default attitude in your country is that stealing is ok. I know many SEA countries think nothing of piracy and street vendors exist that sell piles of burned cds and dvd.

But you have to realize that this is parasitic behavior. The developers that make these games need to be paid or they will be shut down, we already have thousands of people, potentially ten thousand or more people laid off from the industry over the past year and a half.

People have made accounts in different countries for a decade or more now. Plenty of americans and europeans have accounts in new zealand simply to play games a few hours early on release day.

Also, you're not making enemies. Just because I disagree vehemently with the idea that people should pirate a game simply because it's not for sale in their country doesn't mean I hate you.

Sony never ever excluded anyone until Steambots started to review bomb the game.

creating account in different region wasn't a problem ever to anyone even Sony for decades. millions accounts are created that way, whole communities are built on that.

it is what steambots demanded, no more access to unsupported countries.

i know how you feel. i have 'legal' PSN account where i live now, but if i returned to my homeland, suddenly i can't buy all of those steam games too, so it makes no sense.

The funny thing is that Steam is basically operating illegally in many of these countries lol. I think Sony probably consulted their legal department and were like "whoa, okay that's kinda sus"

i don't know if you meant it as such, but this was kinda rude.... i mean as a country level assumption
I am not advocating for piracy here, i am quite literally asking to legally buy it lol
i understand how much effort goes into making a game, but restricting 121 countries from buying it ain't gonna add to sales lol

Oh and i see how the misunderstading came about i am not pro piracy i would legally buy if i could, i mean i stated that like 3 times now lol, also thanks i really can't do with hate much

Speaking from personal experience too. I guess depends on which country we are talking about. In the city I lived in we had 30+ gaming stores. And that was just one city. Huge market. In any case, all Sony has to do is let people pay on PSN with their cards. Just like Steam, it works pretty much everywhere.
Man do I envy you.

Then maybe buying a PS5 and creating a fake account is the easiest way to get the Sony games you like in a legal manner. No VPNs needed or so.

The Problem is not that they can't, it was possible just a little while ago to buy it, but it's a sudden change in Sony Policy to exclude anyone without an account, that's the part i can't get behind.

Unfortunately the crybabys on Steam were so loud that Sony had to handle. That was their only solution at that time. Maybe they will find a solution to support those countries in the future, but I wouldn't count so much on that.

I think i messed up here to be honest

Nah you are good. Differing opinions are always welcome and are the base of interesting conversations.

we know your situation, it happens on Playstation too or other platforms. there are games specific for japan. if you want to play those, create JPN account, import physical or just deal with it as it is and move on. thing is, PC killed physical so you have no option there.

Sega just released physical Yakuza game in asia and japan only. so people, who aren't buying digital, has only 2 options, import game or just let it go.

Not much of a gaming market in most of those. A console there can cost more than an average monthly salary. 90% of people living in some of those countries can't afford one, let alone games.
True, all of those countries combined, are not even 20% profitable as the UU and Canada for example alone. Not to mention UK and W. Europe, way bigger market and richer customers ( and more of them).

Don't be dumb, OP.

No social media wankstain represents a community or people. They think they do, because they're egotistical try-hard cunts.
Just like this nob-jockey, he's saying shit he doesn't believe in, to rile up internet people's for media clout and clicks
