Nokia isn't dead though?
Well Microsoft bought the mobile division of Nokia which was successful and then killed it. The rest of Nokia is alive and have restarted their mobile business.
Nokia isn't dead though?
It actually is, you can only use Gamepass on Windows, matter of fact, you can only game on Windows so they have the monopoly there.Soon you guys are going to come up with some explanation of how Office and Windows are actually ways MS found to try to push Gamepass on people.
Why does MS have to push this product so hard? Aren't people liking it?
Netflix userbase is quickly declining, not really worth the 100$b investment. If they were to merge Netflix alongside Xbox Game Pass, then it could be worth it.They have interest in it's userbase. It's worth a lot more than streaming. It's actually something I see them doing in a not so distant future, they need that userbase to push Gamepass.
They made sure to keep Nokia's mobile tech patents though. And patent trolling is how MS now stays profitable in the mobile sector.Well Microsoft bought the mobile division of Nokia which was successful and then killed it. The rest of Nokia is alive and have restarted their mobile business.
Well aren't Microsoft and Apple in a consortium of patient trolls? I know Apple makes plenty with that as well. They made sure to keep Nokia's mobile tech patents though. And patent trolling is how MS now stays profitable in the mobile sector.
The only way I see this being good on M$ is that with Azure being the dominating force it is that operations would be a drop in the bucket for them.Analyst slams Netflix-Microsoft ad agreement, says deal conceals 'hidden agenda'
Netflix shares are still a sell, warns Goldman Sachs in a bearish note to clients. Here's why.uk.finance.yahoo.com
'Netflix (NFLX) has chosen Microsoft (MSFT) to help roll out its new ad-supported offering — but one analyst says the deal might conceal "a hidden agenda" while questioning the timeline of this agreement.
"It could be that Netflix is looking for an exit," Laura Martin, Needham senior analyst, told Yahoo Finance Live on Thursday, proposing perhaps the streaming giant is making long-term play to be acquired by Microsoft.
The analyst went on to explain that no other company that Netflix could have partnered with would have been able to make the $100 billion purchase, either due to financial constraints or regulatory issues.
"Netflix is trying to get closer to Microsoft in hopes that, after Microsoft digests its Activision acquisition, it turns and buys Netflix next," Martin suggested.
The bold prediction comes as Martin questioned Netflix's decision given Microsoft's lack of experience in the third-party ad tech business.'
Would this be a smart move for MSFT or were you hoping they would go for something else?
Very stupid move. Netflix is on the decline and has lost the support of the public opinion.
Were they short on cash to go for HBO? They never seem to go after the premium content, cheap bastards.
Makes it even more stupid to go after Netflix when HBO Max is already better. But like I said, MS doesnt care about quality.huh? lol
HBO is worth like 18 billlion
Netflix on the other hand is worth like 100 billion.
It's not actually happening. The guy who made this "prediction" is reaching.
Makes it even more stupid to go after Netflix when HBO Max is already better. But like I said, MS doesnt care about quality.
HBO has an entire catalog of great shows, decades making top tier shows: Band of Brothers, Trued Detective, Generation Kill, The Deuce, The Wire, Succession, pretty much all the best shows ever with very few exceptions.nahhhh lol
200 million plus users is better sir. This is business. HBO Max is still getting their feet wet, Netflix is deep in the ocean with this.
So right now many more people are talking about Resident Evil show, Stranger Things new season, Umbrella Academy new season etc.
Next month they'll be talking about the Sandman show and the new season of Cuphead
Next month after that they'll be talking about new season of Cobra Kai, that Cyberpunk anime show etc.
They already have a rotation of a lot of shit. HBO is what....Peacemaker and just watch that on repeat until The Last Of Us comes out? lol Sir....HBO doesn't even have enough shit for me to care to pirate. When I look on Frostwire and realize only 2 shows were from HBO, clearly....I would never spend the money for so little. So I have nothing against HBO trying and I'm happy they fucking stopped low bailing those shows as they were even in talks to have House Of Cards, Netflix paid up, Witcher? Netflix paid up, Fallout? Amazon took that contract. HBO likely had to go hardball and really fucking pay up to get The Last Of Us , but they lost many many deals cause that stupid ass cheap behavior. They even lost out on the studio that did the Band Of Brothers and Pacific show, they are now doing some airforce show thing on Apple.
Just to show I'm not saying this JUST to bash HBO, they have done better and made some good moves.
1. The WB deal for the films to come to HBO Max is massive and a great move.
2. Bidding more aggressively to combat Amazon and Netflix.
Regardless, they have a long way to go and they may have lost those studios and deals. So the idea that one is better here or there is silly when you realize those fucking studios USED TO MAKE HBO SHOWS! They now make Amazon, Apple, Netflix shows etc. Its not a building called Netflix where a show is being made, its a show with a budget, a studio, a script etc and they are looking for a distributor to back. Thus, if HBO low balled The Last Of Us, you'd just see that same studio, with the same cast, with the same story...on Netflix. So when you see that Airforce show on Apple, please don't fucking cry to me that they are copying HBO....
The quality you'll see in that show is from the fucking PEOPLE that made the show you simply SAW on HBO. I think maybe thats the best way to explain all that lol Netflix even got a bunch of studios that used to do the Discovery ID stuff to do those documentaries and crime shows and such, but a conversation for another day lol.

Resident Evil show? Cuphead show? More Cobra Kai? Cyberpunk? Makes me want to cancel Netflix if that's what they have going on. Something is off with Netflix, too much garbage being produced.
, it wouldn't be out of character for MS to not see the value in quality entertainment,
