Explain this then

2 points.

1. The image seems to be from a internal presentation. It's what 1 person within a organisation wrote down. Xbox console is no longer a viable for MS.

2. Since the console war is done, there is no longer a need having exclusive content on your console. So branching out to increase revenue is the thought process.

Playstation just gained a large publisher, who will new franchises, IP's that have unavailable before but have had success within highend gaming segment.

That will mean 30% on each sale plus the added network effect.

In the eyes of sony, those exclusives did their job. Increasing revenue is now the priority.

Nothing different than what they tried with Gaikei and PS Now, don't hear them bringing up this happened in the PS4 gen.

Now the real question is, is the Xbox a Playstation? The PS is for sure an Xbox according to this commercial. MS is literally promoting going away from the console, while the last PS promo ends with the console.

Translation: Our consoles failed. Please just buy our games...

We really need competition in the console space, though.
Samsung, Apple, Nvidia, heck even Qualcomm or Mediatek should do something.

I vaguely remember that slide but I don't remember seeing the Series X in it. Are you sure that's accurate?

It's photoshopped

I thought as much.

Great find, but these discussions within companies is very normal. Teams within a large corporation can have other priorities then the rest and internal presentation could even be from a intern.

We have seen the gamepass on ps and Nintendo slides from xbox.

This exactly what project latitude is about at Microsoft. It's removing control from that phil spencer led team xbox management and giving control to lower levels to allow them to increase revenue/profitability without being hampered by overarching xbox goals.

That is why not only are xbox games coming out on playstation, they also run better and they also support ps5 pro.

For instance the xbox game sea of thieves are treating ps players as first class players on sea of thieves. They have exclusive content, better performance/graphics, and are able to play server that exclude xbox and PC.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony eventually releases PS Plus for Xbox Series as Microsoft gradually gives up on the console war.

If that would be the case then it would be to help keep console space occupied, rather a enemy that you know and is down for the count then unknown player.

The other reason might for the ftc, cma. The monopoly angle.

It's like when you essentially won the game from a younger cousin, but you keep giving him handouts just to survive and extend the game.

So Xbox as a console within the console war space is done, it's not selling anymore except in the US. For other regions they are all mimicking japan ratio for ps and Xbox.

They not only announced their games will come to ps, and we have seen they are the better versions as well. They just announced that every device is a xbox, so they won. They won the console war by declaring ps is now a xbox.

The console war is over, the ambassador program stopped, every box is a xbox, when we play we all win.

Sony has to do nothing when MS is done. Why try to rake in some breadcrumbs by creating a platform for a console which no-one wants, even if its used and dirt cheap?

I honestly don't know why they'd do it, just that they wouldn't be compelled not to due to competition concerns. Competition is over.

Though what I suggested was not to have Playstation Plus and games running natively on the Xbox, rather to let the Xbox play through the PSN Cloud platform. The Xbox would be running little more than a web browser and video decoding.

The track of the add sounds very similar to papa rappa the rapper, a sony exclusive.

If their cloud service was even on par with the others it could be "interesting", but we have Sony, nvidia, and probably others that stream better verions of games at higher bit rates.

They are the worse in this class of product.

Are you willing to pay for that, though?

If people wanted to support competition to Sony, Xbox/Gamepass is obviously there, but nobody wants to pay for it!
Most Xbox Customers are just cheapskates, driving on cheap subs (often bought with Conversions, VPN-Tricks, keys, trials etc.).

If there was a new Platform, i bet you that nobody would want to spend their money on it, since it couldn't compete anyway.
