You are already outdated... using a AM4 mobo was a terrible decision.

Anyway Nextorage is a great Japan brand with Sony's hands on them.

My drives from them are excellent.
There is nothing wrong with AM4. No games require PCIE5 or DDR5 speeds and won't for at least 5-6 years.

Terrible decision? You have no idea what you are taking about.

People on this forum are just extremelly ignorant about PC, its tiresome to discuss anything PC related here.
Getting a not future ready as possible PC is a terrible decision.

Buying and recommending a AM4 motherboard/CPU in 2024 shows you are the one who don't know what you are talking about.

AM4 is from 2016, what are you talking about? I bought my PC many years ago.

Not to mention that something like a 5600X3D or a 5700X3D is going to easily last many more years as well. For the right price an AM4 platform is still a great option even today.

It's dated and won't get the newest CPU's.
Game requirements are going up at a fast rate.
5-6 years is laughably off.
You don't need the newest CPUs. 5800X3D will last quite a long time, it's only like 15-20% slower than the i14ks, which is nothing. Also, that's copium. The biggest bottleneck is GPU especially with pathtracing. But as long as you're gaming at 1440p AM4 will be around for a long long time.

Specially when comparing to consoles where devs rarely target high framerates. On the CPU front hitting a least 60fps is extremely easy, lets not even get into 30fps that still ends up being the target for some console games.

That is why when building a budget PC it's all about how much money you can save elsewhere to go towards the GPU.

Ffs you can still game on an I7 4790k just fine if you limit to 60 FPS for the most part. Yeah it's an old ass platform but it can still get the job done with 16GB RAN or more, Specially at 4k.

I never quite understood why among console gamers there's this narrative that PC gaming is only worth it if you go high end or bleeding edge. And for everything else, console gaming is the better choice, all through the generation. That is just not true. Build a rig that is only slightly above console in specs and you'll be.st fine

This is going to be a long ass generation, with a pandemic and a recession in the middle. I think it will be similar to the 7th gen.

Maybe around 2027 we'll get to a retake of those times when you had fx4100 and HD 7750 maxing console ports at 1080p, as the ps360 were downright ancient by then (and never actually that powerful)
We are already seeing games run ing at 720p in performance modes. Latter half of the generation is going to be tough

20% is significant and causes bottlenecks.
Copium for who? I am not the one using a dated mobo.
I game at 4K.
The lower resolutions are more CPU dependent.

at 1080p lowest settings sure. 1440p and above no. You're looking at a 5% upgrade going from the 5800x3d to 7800x3d at 4k. That's literally unnoticeable.

1440p yes.
With a 7800x3D's AM5 mobo will get upgrades throughout 2025 and maybe 2026.

U could save 800 dollars and just delete and re download games when you need to. You don't need to play 12 games at once just play them one at a time.

When I was a kid I would only have 1 or 2 games a year and had to make those last.
yeah, but my OCD?

Must be some newly developed memory stacking tech, that's almost 4x as expensive as the 4GB options on the market. I expect the price to go down as the tech matures.
Yeah thry should be reasonably priced few months out.

Needing and less bottleneck to your system aren't the same thing.
there is no such thing as a system without bottlenecks. CPU bottlenecks are for the most part rare and minor. Or a sign of shit devs like in Starfield.

CPU's can also bottleneck GPU's.

Faster CPU's are needed for high FPS gaming especially on lower resolutions like 1440p and 1080p

the point is you dont need the latest cpu to game acceptably. 60 fps is still achievable on zen 2 in most modern games and the 5800x3d is better than the 3700x by a huge amount.

Again recommending a AM4 or older Mobo and CPU in 2024 is LOL worthy.

On PC... 60fps isn't always enough. A 2024 PC gamer is looking for north of 120.
