With all honesty, what's the pride in it anyway? Or by being straight for that argument? Why not just get fucked silently and keep it for yourself?

It could be that historically people have often made who other people are having sex with their business. And particularly if the people having sex were not heterosexual. Laws, religions, politicians, etc. made that their business in a very negative way in most instances. Times are changing in many places in the world and, to me, pride represents not needing to hide and also a refusal to be shamed or ashamed of who you are - instead celebrating it. Still a lot of intolerance in the world, though, so people will keep trying to get the message across.

@Dodkrake the paradox of tolerance is relevant here but difficult to impose. As you can see, Nexus are facing backlash for being tolerant even though the offending material can very easily be access by people who want it elsewhere, that and Nexus and ModDB hold the right to host or not host whatever content they want on their websites, it's in their Terms of Service.

Similarly if you guys try to enforce it here, there will certainly be a subset of users who will cry foul about stiffing their free speech.

The game is tolerant towards Muslim nations by taking out lgbt material, also to the Chinese….Ignoring profit motivations. So in the world, who’s to say there are people in all parts of our diverse world that have a preference for no homosexual references based on religion or even a ‘phobia’. Why be intolerant to any people by delegitimising them with such a stance as is nexuses?

Furthermore, how does this oppress any minority it being on an individuals computer in the privacy of their own home? It doesn’t.

What is behind this movement generally is pure lust, which is ok if they wanted to keep that for themselves, but keep the kids media/content out of it.

The author introduces it as something that "removes the stupid pride flags". If you don't think this is intolerant then there's not much I can do to change your mind. And once again, any content that is hosted on Nexus or ModDB, it is entirely within their discretion to remove it at their whim.

Nexus's stance is not de-legitimizing anyone.

I'm not really for or against it, per se. People are what they are and, in most cases, I accept that. I do see your point about media and content for kids although whether seeing a symbol in a game is harmful or not is debatable. I've never really spoken to any kids to get their take, to be honest.

This whole "won't someone think of the kids" argument is a massive dog-whistle. If people are concerned about not introducing children to violent/sexual content, then the first step is to remove all religious books, the bible, quran etc as all of them include numerous depictions and anecdotes of violence and sexual content.

We can't be ok with that stuff being exposed to children in one form but oppose it in another. That's called being a hypocrite.

For the topic, Marvel's Spider Man is a PEGI 16 rated game, so in an ideal case younger children should not be exposed to it in the first place, parental failings and disregarding age ratings is a whole another can of worms.

As long as both parties are being respectful of each other and not threatening anyone or getting physical, it's all gravy I say. General shouting is pretty much par for course in any march of any kind.

I do agree with you on the shouting part, as long as it does not get physical then go ahead by all means, saying that, it does feel slightly antagonistic to me to go to a march, which you fully well know is a pride event, then to stand in the middle of the road trying to disrupt it.

The event has been rather quiet all day bar around 12 pm, when some fucker with one of those loud band drums decided to march down the round banging it for 30 mins, my poor ear drums.

Besides that, it has been nice and quiet, but now i have a woman constantly shouting about Jesus. sigh
