I got to say it's kind of hysterical picturing them reading this in their off-site drama thread (thanks Taysan) and having conniption fits about this. Not sure why though. Just because you post on a shitty forum doesn't mean you need to stand by the shitty moderation but then again they'll apparently ban you for having any problems with moderation so maybe that's what you got to do to stick around there. I don't know about you but I'm not interested in kissing that much ass.

All I'm going to say is that I think a lot of this beefing I see people performing over this webforum is unneccessary. Kicking matt off that discord was a good idea I'll give kad that. Your ban? Well you don't go against a mod and expect to win it's a unspoken rule on any website one of which I've broken quite a few times for the lols on several discords I was annoyed with. If I get kicked off a platform I like to go out with a bang so to speak. Dpad was quite the bang lmao. The whole site had a conniption fit over me.

As someone who spent 130 hours in Starfield I think the scores are too high for it on metacritic. I know some people think hey man you played it for that many hours you must have liked it but like I expect Bethesda games to last me multiple hundreds of hours. I've got over a thousand hours in fallout 4 across two platforms and I still think about going back to it the only thing keeping me from doing it recently is waiting for the next gen upgrade it's supposedly getting. I do not think about returning to Starfield after 130 hours nothing makes me want to come back.

Oh wow I could write a whole review.

The first major thing is the companions and it's not just that they're bad or uninteresting it's that they all have pretty much the same opinions on every major event in the game. The four companions that are actually given any depth and can be romanced will all hate the same decisions for the same reasons or praise the same decisions for the same reasons. It is ostensibly a choice based RPG where the only faction you have to join will judge you forever making a choice besides the "correct one". This is so far off from something like Fallout 4 where you have such a wide range of companions with a wide range of feelings about different things you do. Not to mention no boring lectures.

There are no unique or interesting weapons. They created a Destiny style system that is filled to the brim with loot but it's all kind of meaningless and not that fun to use. Most guns feel pretty much the same as each other, among the weirdest issues with the guns is how you can decide you want to do a laser weapons build there's only two types of laser weapon ammo in the entire game but more than a dozen types of ballistic ammo. The other loot problem is that the unique guns that have their own names aren't actually unique they just have some neat perks. In a game like destiny the unique guns are totally unique they have interesting sounds and functions on top of the amazing perks. In this game they just take a gun you've been getting the whole game and add some perk to it. On top of that they're not even the best guns in the game. On its face it looks like it has a color coded loot system with yellow being the best loot because it's the unique stuff. The problem is the color coding only indicates how many perks a gun has it doesn't determine it's viability especially in the end game that's determined by if it has words like calibrated or advanced or another word like that before the name. Because of the unique weapons with their own names never come in those variants they are completely useless for anyone playing at high levels in the game.

It has possibly the worst AI I've seen in a Bethesda shooter and not only are they dumb bullet sponges but they don't even have the good sense to die violently like they would in a Fallout game. In other words it is exceptionally less fun to kill people in this and that is most of what you'll be doing.

There's the usual complaints space travel might as well not be in the game it's just a loading screen you can even skip it entirely if you've already been to the place you're traveling to. The random planets aren't worth exploring because their idea of procedurally generated content is finding the same base on multiple planets with the same enemies in the same spots. NPCs are really bad and don't have homes or routines like in previous Bethesda games. There's no sense of wonder to the exploration because everything that's worth finding you simply travel to through map screens there's no seeing something interesting on the horizon and walking towards it until it comes into full view.


The new game plus structure actively discourages caring about the loot in a game that seems to really want you to care about the loot. I don't know man I have a lot of issues I'll leave it here for now.
