port begging is perfectly normal behaviour , i saw this back when metal gear solid released on ps1 and my friend with a PC was begging for a port
I think Nintendo should hire the folks who make Switch emulators and make an official Nintendo app with emulator included where you could log with your eShop user and play on your PC the Switch games you bougth using an official app or service, without needing to use grey area emulation.
Games like Bayonetta 3 have awful performance and resolution on Switch, and get highly benefited from being played on an PC emulator (if you have a powerful enough PC, which as of today isn't the case of most users) with higher resolution -up to 4K- and higher framerates.
For me as a Switch owner feels weird that buying a game like Bayonetta 3 -where to have steady 60 fps is important- can't play it the console that I'm supposed to play it at 720p 60fps on handheld and 1080p 60fps docked but instead the game looks pretty blurry in lower resolutions and pretty sub 60fps more times than it should. And that instead I have an unofficial way to play it that achieves that.
Nintendo only would need to do an official emulator with eShop user connectivity, they could use the web eShop they already have. So the games sold for PC would really be Switch digital games. If you later buy a Switch, that catalog would be also playable on Switch. And the opposite: the Switch catalog you had would be also playable on PC.

Begging in general is the proposition of a question, it's an ask. If I'm asking for a game to release with no just reason to believe it's going to happen I am port begging.
On the contrary if I make a statement that is empirically driven such as "I'll wait for God of War to hit PC" I am asking for nothing. I'm presenting an intention based upon what the company is actively doing in the space and the series or title in question. This is not port begging.
One is based on disillusioned hope, the other is based upon empirical data inference.

Look at @DynamiteCop above, still stating an all but confirmed PC port of the Masterpiece and GotY (<= can I call it empirical data inference?) GoW: Ragnarök as a fact, giving a perfect example for port-begging.
The fact is you guys need to drop this port begging nonsense, because given Sony's trajectory in the PC space you're opening the door for us to flip this on you.

Because one is accurate and a description of begging, and the other is factually and undebatably not.
Your definition is not rooted in any form descriptive reality or linguistic accuracy.

I don't really have any wants, I'll just buy whatever and play it when I get a chance. These games don't hold the same importance on our platform that they do elsewhere.
Sony's track record is "a few but not all ports", so until a port is not confirmed, it's hypothetic and anything hypothetical (no matter the probability of it to happen) stated as fact, is wishful thinking.

As is your stating of hypothesis as facts.
I don't care if Sony announces a port tomorrow to be released in 1 year, but as long as no announcement exists, you are wishing for it to happen, aka port-begging.
