You talk as if they didn't have more games under development than ever before and as if the weren't making more money thay ever with the games they make than ever before.Remember when Sony used to make Games for PlayStation?

Yes, it's really sad that they have all these people in their studios just sitting there. What a waste of talent!Remember when Sony used to make Games for PlayStation?
Yes, Sony is working on this too. Last year Sony was top 20 (by revenue) publisher on mobile but have room to improve:If you want to make money in gaming, mobile is the way to go. Even COD makes more money on mobile than consoles and PC combined

They have been planning to expand to mobile since several years ago. It's the only area where its SIE revenue didn't grow a lot during Jimbo's era, even if they started to work on it and if in other Sony divisions made important acquisitions with Lasengle and Netflix Games.
I think the next CEO will continue growing their console, PC and adaptations market but the main difference vs the Jimbo era will be that -on top of continue growing their existing business- we'll start to see a SIE mobile gaming expansion:
- Acquisition of maybe one important -pretty likely Asian- mobile gaming publisher who may or may not also have important presence in console or PC to grow in mobile, get info and knowledge and help them bring some SIE IPs to movile
- Deals with 3rd party mobile gaming studios to bring a few SIE IPs to mobile
- Acquisition of one or maybe multiple small buotique mobile gaming devs to publish their games and maybe also allow them use SIE IPs
- Hiring new people to create of a new mobile gaming team inside some existing SIE gamedev studios (not affecting their work con console, as happened with PC games or GaaS) to create their own mobile games or to overview adaptations made elsewhere
- Release of PS cloud gaming client for mobile devices and smart tvs
- Release emulated PS1+PS2+PSP classics on mobile
- Release of a PSN mobile store (maybe after regulation changes that would force Apple and Google to allow other stores on Android and iOS)
- Implementation of the patents for improving game streaming (for PS cloud gaming + remote play) over 5G phone connection
- To include via firmware update in PS Portal the PS cloud gaming and natively playable Sony mobile games plus emulated on Android PS1/PS2/PSP classics
- Release of PS Portal Pro (featuring OLED display and wifi6)
Sony has Fate/Grand order on mobile, even to this day it is still Sonys moat profitable game.
They shouldn't be wasting time on PC
Its coming eventually unless they drop PC ports altogether. Its not
Remasters to PS5 (or upgrades for PS5 Pro versions) or sell them off. I really, really, really don't see the benefit of the PC ports. It was pitched initially as expanding IPs' exposure to drive people to pick up Playstations in order to buy new entrees in those series. But based on sales numbers its pretty clear that has failed.what would you have Nixxes doing if you ran sony? seems to me anything other than PC ports would be wasting time.
Even so it wont be announced this yearIts coming eventually unless they drop PC ports altogether.
based on sales numbers, sony gets one AAA new game for free. worth it for that alone.Remasters to PS5 (or upgrades for PS5 Pro versions) or sell them off. Huh? They had one successful PC release and the rest have underperformed while eating away at the value of owning a Playstation. Plus they end up providing competition with their own products when they release near the new version on PS. There's a reason Nintendo tries to stick to 1 (sometimes 2) releases per series per system.based on sales numbers, sony gets one AAA new game for free. worth it for that alone.
PC is a bigger market than PS and gives them hundreds of millions per year with barely a few ports of old game. They are not wasting their time on PC. And Fate/Grand, like every single other game will have its lifecycle and will sunset, so they have to find other successful GaaS.Sony has Fate/Grand order on mobile, even to this day it is still Sonys moat profitable game.
They shouldn't be wasting time on PC
This is not true. They have multiple million seller games on PC and PC is generating them hundreds of millions per year. Last year SIE generated almost half a billion outside PS and this H1 improved over 50% YoY. And they achieved this big success while they keep improving all their metrics on PS. PC isn't negatively affecting PS: if it has some effect is the opposite.Huh? It would be really retarded to drop a highly profitable business that is giving them hundreds of millions per year that have tiny risk because costs are very low compared to making new games. Specially when they are having a crazy growth there. Its coming eventually unless they drop PC ports altogether.

No, of course I'm not. That would be something only an idiot would do. Why would anyone think that Mario Golf cannibalizes 2D or 3D Mario sales?Regarding the amount of releases per series per system you aren't counting a gazillion spinoffs, remasters, remakes, emulated old games and so on that Nintendo releases.
Just want to point this out:TLOU2 directors cut for ps5/pc 3 years into the gen and the 4th remaster/remake from naughty dog and still no news of any actual new games.
The Last of Us Part 2 is Coming to PlayStation 5
The Last of Us Part 2 is coming to the PlayStation 5, according to a reputable dataminer and leaker, verified by Insider Gaming.insider-gaming.com
It will definitely be a “directors cut” and will be on PC.Just want to point this out:
- We don't know if it will come to PC (though that is likely, and I'd be very surprised if it didn't)
- A PS5 database entry could be related to a PS5 patch and not it being a remaster (though I think it will be a remaster)
- We don't know if it will or won't have additional story content (likely not)
- It may not even be made by Naughty Dog
I'm not sure on the "directors cut" bit simply because I don't think it will include new story content. It will definitely be a “directors cut” and will be on PC.
Death stranding and GoT directors cut didn’t have any new story content. GoT Iki Island could be bought separately so that’s not part of the directors cut. I just mean they’re about to charge $10 for 3D audio and dualsense lmaoI'm not sure on the "directors cut" bit simply because I don't think it will include new story content.
