They didn't grow it with their 300$ consoles either (whatever the series S was sold for).
They thought they could grow by having cheap console. It’s not just a cheap console but also tons & tons of exclusive games. As I continue to say just look at Nintendo & copy & watch the profits & growth come w no diminishmentThey didn't grow it with their 300$ consoles either (whatever the series S was sold for).
The Series S is somehow simultanously the reason that the Series (barely) survived, yet also it's biggest failure...They didn't grow it with their 300$ consoles either (whatever the series S was sold for).
Microsoft, if the X/S series sold very well or at least well enough, would surely have released a mid-gen model at 700 dollars like Sony.
Microsoft told us this back when we saw the Series X for the first time, that the Series X is their mid-gen refresh. They just decided to do it ahead of time, I guess you could say. The Series S is what they consider, like, their standard machine, and then Series X is like, that's getting ahead of the cart there, and that's what you might get from a mid-gen console."
It's true, they trapped themselves with their X and S series by releasing them at the same time.Just to highlight but they did launch a midgen refresh its just they are so incompetent that it completely misses the mark, first they already launch their midgen start of the gen, then the refresh brooklin is the Xbox Series X tb2 version for 600 dollars.

Xbox Series X 2024 refresh (Brooklin): Features, price, design, and everything we know
A refreshed Xbox Series X with a possible new design and features was expected to make its debut this year, but it seems to have been killed off.www.windowscentral.com
And you belive them, that the X is suppose to be the midgen refresh?Just to highlight but they did launch a midgen refresh its just they are so incompetent that it completely misses the mark, first they already launch their midgen start of the gen, then the refresh brooklin is the Xbox Series X tb2 version for 600 dollars.

It is not even a joke, but grim reality, at this point. So far, Xbox is shrinking the market.
They have a history of incompetence, by the time they announced the 1st series console that had been the case for many many years already. We all couldn't believe they would be that incompetent.
They only started promoting the Series S right before its release, the Series X was revealed first (12TF blah blan monster... most TF console everer, VRS, VRR, LGBTQ+-2S, etc.)Still difficult to believe it because that would mean series s is their base console...

How is it a flop when it’s slightly outpacing PS4 Pro launch numbers? The PS4 Pro was considered a success. The PS5 Pro is not meant to be a mainstream mass seller. There’s a reason why there are no tv ads for it.He's not wrong, though. The PS5 Pro is a flop. There is a ceiling on the amount of money most people are willing to invest into a game console and I'd say once you get north ~$600, you've reached it.
The fact that it can sell the same or more than the PS4 Pro, at DOUBLE the price, is making it pretty successful alone. How is it a flop when it’s slightly outpacing PS4 Pro launch numbers? Rather early to chant tales of success for hardware that released 2 weeks ago, considering:The fact that it can sell the same or more than the PS4 Pro, at DOUBLE the price, is making it pretty successful alone.
I've been seeing anecdotal comments from retail employees in the UK and EU saying the PS5 Pro is gathering dust on their shelves, by the way.
