It doesn’t make difference… it is after all a sold unit.

And the whole give away claim is weird because bundles (official or not) can have the cut in the console and not game.

For example Somy see they can give up $30-40 on the profit margin of the console sold to pay the cost of bundled the game with it.

So you are paying for the game no matter if bundles or not.
The give away free is a myth created for no reason… you are paying for both and Aomy is taking profit margin hit in both (or the retail as non-official bundle).

Smash Ultimate(2018) - 5 million units in 3 days on 32 million installbase.

Pokemon Sword and Shield(2019) - 6 million units in 3 days on 45 million installbase.

Mario Odyssey - 9 million units on 15 million installbase.

Installbase excuses are hardly matter for exclusives.
