+400% is incredible progress, of course there is no issue with chips anymore as demand has collapsed after covid and with the bottom falling out of the crypto market. But I am impressed with how shipments seem to be really no issue either.

One thing I don't understand is why you would warehouse PS5 stock at all.....even for GOW launch. Just sell them, get them out there to consumers and get them buying and playing games already. No need to clog up warehouses with stock needlessly...keep it all flowing.

We all knew Sony would not let Ragnarok fail. Kinda feel bad for horizon, came out during the height of the stock shortage earlier in the year and against elden ring but sony bundled it thankfully.

They are not letting that happen again with their prize pony. Probably how they got Square Enix to push back Forspoken also, told them they are increasing stock ten fold from this point.

Oh, i thought i annoyed you lol.

Sony was always gonna go HARD with Ragnarok. Horizon is that evergreen title, it will keep selling.

This all means Sony getting everything ready for the monster that is Spider-Man 2.

If they hit their projections which is looking likely with the redesign, they might be over 50m by then

Damn it's really that high?

Yeah, if we assume they are shipping 18m by the end of this fiscal year (march) they’ll be at 37 million units. Then we assume they want to ship about 22m+ the next fiscal year (even though its been rumored they are aiming for 30m) i assume half that will be sold by september, and spider-man 2 if it makes 2023 will most likely be a fall game again.

Wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of it starts going to Japan and other asian territories next year with Final Fantasy XVI and other big Japanese games coming out.

It's almost like Sony's plan is starting to happen? I hope we get some deals by Urata soon...

Sony's plan was that around this part of the year their supplies would start to catch up and keep growing, to the point that in early next year they'd pass PS4 launch aligned again and would become the best selling console ever in gaming history (launch aligned) again.

I hope sony has a showcase to go with this increased production. They can’t leave us hanging after ragnarok for 2023

They have a shit ton of great games coming to PS5 for the rest of 2022 and early 2023. No showcase is needed. There's an insane demand there that will help them sell a shit ton of consoles.

I think they'll do a GoWR focused State of Play and a PSVR2 focused State of Play in the coming months, and that's all. Maybe some trailer or announcement on the Doritos Awards too.

I think they will wait until they sell a shit ton of consoles with the current demand, GoWR, the typical Christmas bump and the other 2022 exclusives they had. Several months later, once supply and demand start to be balanced again, will be the time to bump the hype with a showcase.

It would be dumb to waste their hype bullets now when stores still can't get enough consoles to serve the demand.

Let's be honest we need a showcase more than PlayStation needs a showcase.

My expectation is that Sony will have at least 2 games being shown at The Game Awards (TLOU Factions and HFW expansion if I had to guess) with a State of Play in late January/early February that's centered around PSVR 2 which is scheduled to launch in March and a look at a few of their live service games. Then, in June, Sony has their Showcase because E3 looks like it's returning and if Microsoft, Nintendo and third party publishers all show up with a live showcase, Sony will most likely return to E3 with a PlayStation Showcase.

Don't see a State of Play focused on GOWR simply because the game is 29 days away and having a State of Play for it doesn't make much sense and isn't needed anyway. Sony will have their launch trailer around the same time as when the review embargo lifts and that's basically it.

As I remember Druckmann said they were going to show more of TLOU Factions next year. If they show more of an already announced game I think will be Spider-Man 2. Regarding game announcements, if they make one, I think it could be only one of the many PSVR2 launch games that are to be announced: maybe GT7 getting VR support, maybe a Half Life Alyx port or maybe some 2nd party new IP.

Regarding the GoWR State of Play I agree that isn't needed, but they made it for all their main exclusives so I think we'll get one to show its launch trailer and a nice gamaplay footage showing some new moves, mechanics, enemies or areas.

Regarding the showcase, I think in E3 is a good spot. By then I assume they may already have stabilized the supply and would have balanced it with the demand. All the announced games and PC ports will have been released, and the launch window PSVR2 games too, so will only have to show more Spider-Man 2 (if not released in H1 2023) and Wolverine. So will be time to announce stuff, games under development will have had more time to be more completed and also will be good timing to go back to E3, where I assume MS and Nintendo will attend too.

Retailers are used to scalping. The whole Covid thing made them greedy because they know they can raise prices in these fucking bundles that are more expensive.
No. I don’t want ps5, fifa27, ps4 game and a remote for 700usd.
Sony should kick them in their teeth.

Scalping by normal scalpers is low. But hidden scalping by media markets is a new low
