Steam, not PC hardware. Man, you PC fanboys are coming out of thee woodwork. The Pro has you all shook to the core.
All portables are made as console, but they pretend it is PC, to make faulty arguments about convenience, while it is build as console which gives convenience.

Let's play a game.

Sony listens to you. Sticks to consoles... for reasons...

Consoles continue to fail to grow.

Big Tech eats up 3rd party publishers.

Sony's revenue diminishes.

As a result we get fewer and fewer first party games and safer and safer choices.

The price of PS hardware continues to increase to make up for the declining sales, but the lack of games can't be made up for.

Cloud gaming continues to rise and fewer and fewer 3rd party games make it to the PlayStation console.

Sony can no longer afford to do hardware and decides to just focus on software on other platforms cloud and PC...

Somehow you think staying in place in business is an effective strategy, but it isn't in tech. That's literally blockbuster's strategy and RIM and Sony's in electronics.
By your logic Nintendo shouldā€™ve be releasing Mario & Pokemon games on PC, PS & Mobile day n date since there not growing in the console market.

Switch 2 will sell the same as Switch 1 & the same for Switch 3 see the difference is Nintendo understands that releasing there games on any other platforms wonā€™t bring any meaningful profit & growth, actually the opposite the returns on releasing & expanding to PC isnā€™t gonna bring the returns or would focusing on console (even if it continues to sell the same amount as previous gen) the money made & profits & growth doesnā€™t comes from releasing on other platforms while being a platform holder it comes from the actual production output.

PS wants to see massive growth & profits instead of releasing 1 singleplayer game from first party they release 3 per year then 5 per year then 7 per year the 10, 13, 15 & it continues to grow. The profit & growth in console comes from actually producing games & taking 100% like Disney is doing on Disney+ 99% of Disney+ content is Disney owned so Disney takes 100% from its platform/storefront & if it wants to see more profits & growth they will double & triple down on production output whether itā€™s reviving old ip or making new ip.

When Xbox released there games on PC day n date in 2016/2017 there profits & growth didnā€™t grow it actually shrunk & thatā€™s be confirmed by MS bundling Xbox live gold & gamepass & the numbers of Xbox live gold only going up like 11 million when it used to have over 25+ million. Since Xbox went day n date over 50% of there Xbox console gamers transition & move to other platforms such as PC that number will increase to over 75% when Xbox is force to release games day n date on PS & Nintendo because of there cannibalization of there own platform in the pursuit to reach ā€œnew audienceā€ this strategy only works if your a 3rd party with no platform/hardware ie Sega but if your a platform holder you canā€™t share your cake & eat it, itā€™s either you have permanent exclusive ie Valve, Nintendo, Netflix & Disney & seek growth & profits by double & triple downing on production output or seek other methods to bring new people into your platform such as cross media, collabs, GAAS, mobile or merchandising/toys.

Blockbuster went away because they didnā€™t adapt to the internet this is nowhere near the same situation as what PS & Xbox are in lol completely different scenarios.

Also consoles arenā€™t failing to grow over 30% of PS5 users are new users who have play previous genā€™s. Also the notion that prices will continue to increase w no ending is false & hyperbole at best lol. Somehow price increase is stopping consoles from growing but PC market isnā€™t effected nor is it stopping a younger generation from playing on PC for free to play games.

Sony should consolidate theyā€™ve been horrible & has a past where they missed on great studios/opportunity because there not gunho. Jim Ryan made some really bad bets with the such of unknown un proven & no ip holding studios aswell as his whole strategy w PC & Mobile w live service games. Concord & fairgames are doa & if concord wasnā€™t on PC it wouldā€™ve had a better chance in succeeding (even thoe it was trash) having both PS & PC gamers dogpile on your games raises the stakes of your game that are going to PC day 1 being higher budget & higher quality to meet expectations. Even studios like Nixxes are completely wasted on making PC port of games just to sell less then 5% on PC then what it did on console when they can be remastering/remaking promising games that would sell 5, 10, 15 million on consoles alone bringing higher profits, higher audience/newer audience on console & bolstering the console which equates to more 100% taken from 1st party more 30% cuts w 3rd party more mtx/3rd part sells w more console sold & more subscription sold w more consoles out in households

I don't know about you, console peasants, but I sure feel like investing 2000$+ on a top CPU, an RTX4080, 64GB sweet fast RAM (although that's optional apparently), and a 4TB SSD.

Screw overpriced consoles!

Why just leave out RAM. Let's go without a GPU. Surely it'll work? colt told me so.
GPU is in power brick, multimedia said so, cold reassured us that you don't need RAM too.
PC is as cheap as console šŸ˜‚

I'm so grateful these unbiased figures of authority exist to tell us what we should buy.

Everytime time I consider AMD or, even worse, playstation, 5 minutes of Digital Foundry will steer me on the right path! The Holy Trinity (MS, NVidia, Intel) can do no wrong!

This company is no longer about catering to consoles, it's just that they know without console their PS+ and storefront profits are all gone. PlayStation is nothing but a vessel now to nickel & dime a cultivated base they once cared about.

Still can't understand why they think constantly shoving PC into every discourse will make console players still feel like first class citizens šŸ’€
Thatā€™s the funny thing & itā€™s also sad. PS wants to do the same thing as Xbox but LS knows if they did it will completely kill & destroy there entire platform & profits confirming that they know these PC port & PC push is harming, diminishing & damaging the potential & maximization PS could have but they will never maximize there profits & growth because as a platform hold your either 100% in or 50/50 & never fully maximize the business which is something Xbox tried to do in 2017 w PC day n date till they realized in 2024 they canā€™t fully maximize there business unless they completely get rid of there platform Xbox & window store & go full 3rd party.

But see this is just confirming that in order to do this you would have to do a complete 180 of what you work the part 30 years in the case of PS while being at the mercy of other close storefront such as Valve/Steam (which we saw what happen to Helldivers 2 when Valve said nope & sided with gamers because ofc they would itā€™s easy brownie points) & be at the mercy at Nintendo, Meta even the likes of Apple, Netflix & Disney+ which can grow to becoming future closed wall gardens in the future if they get into gaming & consolidated

At first, they advertise dubious models from advertiser vendors like ā€œcheaper GTX1070, you'll save $20, and it's quieter, and don't care about high power supply temperatures and strange low-frequency soundsā€, hush up possible problems with certain hardware models, and now this...

Yes, itā€™s like he wants to ignore Valve/Steam own consoles the Steamdeck which is as simple & pickup like consoles but not only that Steamdeck is price similar to console around $400 to $500 depending where & when you buy it.
Steam Deck is a PS4 level console priced similar to PS5 lol

That is not exactly ā€œprice similar to consoleā€ā€¦ it is proportionally way expensive than PS5 Pro.

Console with SD hardware should be sold below $200.

Not only is PC gaming more expensive for the equivalent performance, but the longevity of that performance is extremely short lived.

I'd rather buy a console every 4 years or so (including midgen) and continue to get $ for $ better value than spending 1500+ every 6 or 7 years...

When the PS4 launched in 2013, the best card on the market was the nvidia GTX 780 ti. The card was 700 dollars by itself...

In 2020 the PS5 launched. How does the PS5 compare to the GTX 780 ti? It's not pretty... These video cards get QUICKLY outclasses by updated console hardware.
