Playstation has probably done a deal with Geoff Keighley for his show instead of doing a showcase.
I do wonder where this all comes from.
Nothing has been said about a Show case and people are just running off with Rumors on top of rumors.
If I were them I'd show more gameplay for Fairgame and Concord but leave atleast a few HUGE announcements especially for games release 2025 & beyond for The Game Awards at the end of the year.
Because TGA is not only the place where the gaming industry comes together its got huge screens along with a huge legacy of quality.
Because I really do see the value in these combined huge events like summer game fest and TGA.

Fairgame is presumably much further out than Concord. They're putting surveys out asking people what kind of gameplay they enjoy and Sony made no mention of it during the fiscal year reporting. It's clear that they're not quite sure what they're delivering on.
I feel like a lot of these "leakers" are just guessing based on likelihood and when they get things wrong, no one really keeps track of it.
Summer Game Fest is also on the next two weeks. If the Showcase doesnt get announced today then it's not happening

The window is shorter than most people realize as well. The game has to be ready by mid/late October at the latest.
There's just no way anyone would release a competitive FPS game near the yearly Call of Duty.
You either release the game before the CoD window or you delay until Q1 2025 even if you're ready to ship earlier.

I can’t take the fabricated hype for this seriously. Untested, young studio in their first ever game. And they only showed a hamburger. No proof of concept or a second of gameplay shown. No details on wtf it’s even trying to be aside from “PvP.” Which means what exactly?
However, I believe with buying the studio they have a strong endorsement from Sony. Even more so that it made it thru the live service review board (which I assume will be yearly thing if not more frequent).

Former Bungie and Activision employees, aided by Bungie in the development of the game...
It definitely has the air of pedigree to it.
One of the leads is from Bungie, Josh Hamrick (who I believe is the design lead or director for Concord). Same dude also worked on Fallout 4. That’s just headline bait exaggerating some things. Some ex BioWare talent as well etc…
I don’t see it as a dev full of industry vets. More like game design led by industry vets with studio of younger fledgling talent.
Josh Hamrick is extremely talented as a sandbox and weapon design guy (Merc is better) so I’m interested to see what he does with a bigger role for sure.
Yeah the short marketing cycle strategy worked so badly for Helldivers 2, Ragnarok and Spiderman 2
They should reveal 5 years early like Xbox and HellBlade 2. That's working out so well
That is so dumb, it worked great for pretty much everything in the PS4. The PS4 is the reason why the PS5 has all this momentum, don't mix things up.
How did that worked out for TLoU Factions, the London Studios game, the Deviation game?
Lack of marketing/showing the game is usually an indication that they have no faith in the game and it's likely to be delayer, canceled or sent to die.
Good luck holding every future Sony GaaS release to the standard set by Helldivers 2 as if that is going to keep happening.
