We also wanted to provide an update on the PlayStation Plus Collection that has been offered as a benefit to PlayStation Plus members on PS5 since 2020. On May 9 the PlayStation Plus Collection will no longer be offered. If you haven't redeemed the titles in this collection yet, you can still do so until May 9, which will enable you to access those titles even after this date for as long as you remain a PlayStation Plus member.

It was created to incentive to buy PS5 at launch due the lower library of titles that got extended due Covid.
With PS5 library today it makes no sense.

I guess they don't want to keep paying 3rd parties royalties to keep them there.

And of course you will see the first party stuff in Extra soon.

I am guessing it is not cheap to keep the licenses for the 3rd party games in there. It started out as a bonus for new PS5 owners that got extended due to Vid19.
I think over the next few years you will see them all come to PS Plus in one shape or form (Some games that are in the collection have already came to PS Plus)

Why

It was a gift for the PS5 early adopters.

Now that they sold over 30M consoles and having PS Plus Extra, I assume they may want to move these games to Extra to simplify their tiers and also to make some current and future PS5 users upgrade from Essential to Extra.

I think you can only access the list from the PS5 directly, as the collection was meant for PS5 users.

There is a option to download or just put them in your PS5 library on PS5 alone.
It is in the PS Store section but at launch it was very evident in it own section when you started the PS5.

I think it is in another place now since they release PS+ PS++ PS+++ but it is in the PS+ section.
