I somehow think it’ll wind up being more disappointing than this but this seems semi realistic to me if Sony wanted to have a banger show.

Because they can do both.
Because Kojima controls the marketing for DS2.
Because Kojima and Geoff have a relationship.
Because last year Sony gave Geoff the reveals of TLOU Part 1, DualSense Edge, DS2, Horizon Burning Shores, and Returnal PC port instead of being at their own state of plays.

Sony didn't have a showcase last year, so it made sense. No point in having small lower visibility events for their announcements.

They don't need to show gameplay to show more of the game. Especially when it won't come out until next year anyway and we've got SM2 to focus on first. I think that at this point they could get away with another small teaser following what they show about SM2.
