What exactly is a CRPG??? Thanks.
(Computer Role Playing Game) Role playing on the computer, typically in a fantasy environment, although some take place in a medieval setting. A major characteristic of CRPGs is the user's ability to move freely throughout the venue.

In the 1970s, Dungeons was the first CRPG, modeled after the table top Dungeons and Dragons. Such games were played as text only on a mainframe or Unix machine, although the PLATO system offered some graphical alternatives. Today's CRPGs exploit the high-speed graphics capabilities of modern computers to the fullest. See MMORPG.

So if im understanding correctly, CRPG is basically a Western RPG with real time combat and free roaming (ala The Witcher 3) as opposed to a turn based RPG?

How is that counter to what I said?
Pixar and Marvel added something very different to what Disney already had until then, had many IPs and milked them a lot.

Bungie is a very different case, than Marvel or Pixar. It's another case of AAA studio bought by Sony as they did many times before, and in their case only have a single IP until now so there's not much to milk.

It doesn’t have to have real time combat. Some are turn based (divinity original sin series, wasteland, shadowrun), some are real-time with pause (Pillars of Eternity), and some are a combination of both or either and use heavy RNG similar to table top games, like Pathfinder.

A lot of them are isometric also. Its where the modern big WRPG console games spawned from like Mass effect, elder scrolls, fallout, and witcher. The games are mostly about player-choice, playing how you want, and branching narratives, because they are mimicking table top rules.

A CRPG could also very well just be one of those latter series I mentioned as long as they don’t get ported to console

They were companies they bought which continued to act and release independently under their own label and also brought alot of technology and techniques which helped Disney from Pixar

That's the same thing Bungie will be doing

And the billions that Destiny makes

Billions might be a reach, i think it generates about maybe half a billion a year if that. Destiny making a billion puts them on the level of GTA Online and CoD, which they aren’t near as of now.

Maybe once they get their mobile game out and continue to expand it might get there. Its a harder proposition with the way Destiny is set up for newcomers.

Don't see how it's a reach. They have the best selling new IP of last gen, and since free 2 play have added considerably to the userbase. Plus expansions that do $1 million plus each year

Destiny is easily a multi billion dollar franchise. Even by your calculation of $500m a year they'd be multi billion in 4 years

They have expenses though, thats not profit thats revenue that the game generates

It was estimated Destiny generates about 200m in revenue per year when sony bought them

I dont understand where you are getting the idea that bungie have billions of dollars in the bank??
I dont get how hard it is to comprehend the 2nd best selling FPS franchise of last gen has made over a billion.

Nobody said anything about that sitting in the bank, that goes back into development, publishing partners etc. And there is no way to know what their profit margins are because that info isn't released. What we can do is make assumptions about how much it has made relative to other popular games of a similar status in popularity

Bungies purchase value is a reflection of the value of the Destiny IP

Sony usually get their developers to release games. So no they are not taking these devs out of anything, same when Nintendo buys or build a studio.

MS on the other hand, they don't seem to place their developers in an environment where they make good games, or even games at all sometimes. It kind of hurt to think about it, imagine what the forums/gaming media will be if one day they make a really great game, given how nuts they went for Halo Infinite.

Yes, sony should just buy every 3rd party publisher asap or else
Buy publisher, buy developer, buy IP, buy game exclusivity/co-fund/co-develop on a game to game basis (ex: SF4)... do something more than timed exclusive bullshit with 3rd party's games/dlc.

Rumor and innuendo is we have BB2, CastleVania, MGS, SH etc comming... When? Feel like I've been reading that shit since mid PS4 gen, easily.
