Gamepass has 25 Million.

Xbox live not sure how many is up there, but they are trying to bundle them together for a while now.

Last reported numbers I can find online before the merge put it at 3~ million.

It really is embarrassing, looks at all the money and effort that was put into it and it got easily outclassed by Sony on multiple levels.

Retro is the only place where Sony really fumbled but even then they have a lot more room to improve given the fantastic libraries of PS1/PS2/PSP/PS3 games while Xbox is pretty much done with their retro at this point.

Not yet. Sony was really smart to get deals for Crash 4 and Tony Hawk while they still could. Crash N. Sane Trilogy was included on PS+ collection.

Only Sekiro left and Spyro I think, everything else is recent years is CoD.

PS NOW was in it's infancy a testing bed. As in SOny didn't put all their eggs back then into the service/Streaming basket. Xbox had no where to go but to put their games on a service unless they wanted to slowly rebuild their player base. WHich without the influx in cash was not going to happen, and the only reason they got the said influx in cash/interest by enterprise part of the company was they sold their vision as enhancing growth sectors like streaming/subscriptions.

Xbox was literally in talks on the board to be spun off. The fact that it was a talking point shows where the rest of the company viewed it. And that lays on specific people who ran the division into the ground with dumb decisions.

Sony isn't relying on a specific service. Their division is multifaceted.

VR, Streaming, AAA, Indies, and now tiered services partnered with games like Fate and grand order which make them Billions.

Currently there was 117 Million PS4's to 50-60 Million Xbox one.

Currently 21 Million PS5 to 15 Million Xbox series s/x.

Xbox One has 50m+ installed base but Xbox Live has nearly 100m MAU. A good chunk of that is PC and Mobile and that number will continue to grow as Game Pass & xCloud become more accessible and offer more value But right now, the majority of subs (XBLG and GP) are on console

Xbox cannot benefit from third party sales on PC/Mobile, given tiny share of Windows Store, just from first party. It cannot benefit from Xbox Live Gold subscriptions off console. It can benefit from game pass off console, but the service hasn't achieved scale just yet.

- Game Pass on any device is indeed the future entry point to the Xbox ecosystem, but right now it provides the most value and is most accessible on console. - Console is still where Microsoft generates most of its revenue through software and services sales.
