Ampere has them at 16m. The point is that you can't just act like XLG doesn't exist. Unless you're trying to cope with Xbox success, of course.
So you actually have no official numbers and whatever you have is smaller than both PS+ and NSO.
Got it.

Ampere is pretty trust worthy btw.
Maybe, but it is not official. And they can/do share misleading or incomplete data.

For instance, they said Gamepass leads the Western gaming subscription service market with 60%, but they did not even include PS+ in that analysis lol, so compared GP with XBLG, Stadia, Luna, etc.

In their XBLG analysis, they never mentioned that the XBLG count does not include GPU users.

So isn't it better to rely on official data only?

By the way, they also contradicted VGChartz data and said that Xbox Series X|S only sold ~10 million units by EOY 2021, when PS5 was at 17 million units. I don't think our friend @Bernd Lauert will choose to believe that number though.

Also, here you go. @Bernd Lauert @adamsapple

In the United States, which is Xbox'x strongest market bar none, PS Now/PS+ has a higher reach at 41% than GP/XBLG which is at 37%. A 10% difference where there should be none, despite GP's penetration in the PC market.

What we all knew already... Heavy dose of copium needed at the green team.

Even Amazon Luna has a higher reach than "the best deal in gaming" 🤣

No need to spread lies. They didn't compare GP with XLG. Those are two different categories. That's why PS+ also wasn't in the comparison.

GPU includes XLG, Ampere didn't specify if their estimation for XLB counted the ones included inside GPU or not.
They didn't need to specify, they put them in different categories all together. So the XLG number is on its own.

Nope, it makes no sense to put XLG into its own category and then still count GPU numbers for some reason. So of course they did not do that.
The reason is that XLG is included in all GPU subs. So if they have let's say "there are 15M XLG subs" would be nice to include an asterisk and mention '10M -or whatever the number is- of them are from GPU'.

Meaning that out of these 15M, 5M only pay for XLG while 10M are paying for GPU and get XLG a part of it. Or whatever the numbers are split on their estimation.

In any case, it's hard to take that graph seriously when they don't include Sony's subscrition there.

Again, there's no need for an asterisk when they put them into entirely different categories in the first place. The 16m XLG users are only on XLG and don't subscribe to GPU. Otherwise they'd be in the GPU+GP number.

So, in other words, it means that Microsoft/Xbox hasn't been able to convince 16 million XLG users to literally just pay $1 and upgrade to Gamepass Ultimate?

Nope, that's not what it means. Many people (especially kids) pay monthly or quarterly for Gold. They might've upgraded for a dollar once, but after a month or a single quarter, it's back to XLG.

Most kids don't have the means to pay subscriptions, so don't come farting hot from the ass theories again.
